You are probably adding rushing stats. I was talking purely passing stats, the reason he was selected over Cam. If you want to add rushing stats, then Kaepernick had a better season than those two and should have been selected over both.

 

Do you believe only Cam's passing stats were the reason he was selected to his two pro bowls.........or did the pro bowl start going by passing stats for this year only?

It is a popularity issue. We won 12 games that year with a bunch of clutch come backs. There were QBs with better stats passing alone than Cam when you added his rushing numbers.

I don't think Kaep has ever been to the pro bowl,  has he?  Even when his team was amazing and he was one of the most talked about Qbs in the league.

It's not just the rushing yards but the crucial first downs within those yards that kept drives alive also.

Only a dipshit with an agenda would exclude them.

Again proving my point about it being a popularity contest with no clear consistency as to how players are selected. Kaepernick only played a full 16 games in 2013. The QBs selected in 2013 were more popular than him. I doubt he would have been selected to the pro bowl starting only 13 games with less than 2,000 passing yds the year prior.

This isn't going to happen so I don't know why people keep suggesting it. It's uber popular, does well in the ratings, and. If anything, is going to be a foundation of the NFL's desire to make the Super Bowl a week long event.

I'd have been fine with Kap over Dalton.  Dalton just flat out shouldn't have been there... and I only made a case for Cam because he had arguably a better overall season despite missing 2 games and being hurt all year.

 

Eli should've been the one there in Dalton's place though.  He quietly had a pretty damn good season.

Heard Tirico and Gruden mention that with all the replacements this year, there were 115 Pro Bowlers. That needs to be fixed where only the players that play in the game should earn that title.

I dunno how you can penalize someone who declined due to injury or having to play in the SB. However, I do think those that turn it down for other reasons than the two mentioned above should not be credited with having been a pro bowl selection that year.

Pro Bowl clauses in player's contracts are bonuses. In my opinion, they should have to play in the game to earn them or forfeit the bonus money. It's not affecting their salary or signing bonus, so why not make them play to earn it?
