He had a DUI arrest last year.

That's why he's banned from alcohol.

I just wanted to point out the fact that he's on criminal probation for his dui. It is a violation of probation under almost all terms , especially for an alcohol related offense, to consume alcohol.

I've been on probation multiple times for several different offenses and the terms for literally all of them included not consuming alcohol.

Then you're taken back to jail and charged with violating your probation, which means prison time, since you can't be trusted to be out in society and obey the conditions of probation

Pretty sure if I had a multi million dollar paying gig to work part of the year....and had been fugging up a lot and was told okay, no more booze......I'd quit drinking.

Not sure why people are questioning the suspension. It may be for alcohol, but what difference does it make?

 

He was given a set of parameters that he had to meet to get out of the drug program. He was apparently told he could not drink alcohol, or would be in violation and subject to a years' suspension.

 

He did not hold up his end of the deal. That should be the end of the discussion. You cannot defend this action. He failed a drug test for alcohol, and whether it is legal or not is completely irrelevant. 

 

Can we please stop acting like he is a victim in this?

While addiction is a bitch, if he wanted to quit, he could easily get the help he needs.
