Word is that he could now miss the rest of the season and be out 5-6 months.

According to Dr. Calin Moucha, the associate chief of joint replacement surgery for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital, the range of recovery time for a player with that type of injury is typically between four weeks to six months depending on the location and configuration of the tear.

Moucha, who is not performing the surgery, said if the meniscus simply needs to be debrided — or cleaned out — Walker would likely be back in four to six weeks. However, if the meniscus needs to be repaired, Moucha said Walker could miss five to six months.

I tore the lateral meniscus in my knee when I was 15. I didn't have the surgery even though the doc said I should.

It took me a good 4-6 weeks to get back to 100%. Even though it healed it has always bothered me since.

The weird part is I actually finished practice the day I tore it. I even played in the game a few days later before finally shutting it down and rehabbing.

I wouldn't judge Kemba here, that injury can be anything from a mild nuisance to very severe. Add in the cyst and it sounds like he needs some time to get healthy.

The team has a chance to improve in his absence. This is likely the catalyst to get some new players in here who could play key roles once everyone is healthy.

Get well Kemba!

I would think long term with this. Do the best by KEmba long term and do the best by our trade assets for the long term.

Eventually you just have to cut your losses and accept that this season is what it is. Barring a miracle from Roberts, we would really be better off just standing pat and not trying to make short term trades for a playoff spot that may be out of reach. Never mind trying to even win a playoff game.
