I'm not that knowledgeable on this, but reading up on what Eric Bledsoe did I remember there are 2 ways to approach meniscus tears. You can have a certain cartilage removed, which will let you recover faster, but probably have knee problems your whole life, or you can sit out and let the cartilage heal.

Guys like Reggie Bush and Russell Westbrook are the exception, not the norm with this injury. Most players, once they tear their knee cartilage are playing on borrowed time if they're lucky.
