Im not a Giants fan, but I would love it if they hired John Fox. That means Tom Coughlin would be available and then and my panthers could snag him. It would be awesome to finally have a REAL head coach after 15 years.

Did you think he was a "real" HC before he had a ring?

Did you think he was a "real" HC when his team was getting blown out by Carolina in the playoffs? Carolina got blown out by AZ so they're even on that one.

Did you think he was a "real" HC when HIS team went ONE AND DONE in the playoffs this year JUST LIKE CAROLINA? Oops, they're even again.

Did you think that he was a "real" HC when his players were whining constantly to the press about him from 05-06? Players have never whined publicly about Fox. Score one for him.

Did you think he was a "real" HC when his 8-8 team snuck into the playoffs and got handled? I figure not since you complain about Fox and the 2006 8-8 season where they would have snuck in had Washington won the previous night. That was the very year the 8-8 NYG snuck in because they beat the Skins Sat night.

So, what we have here is results that aren't as much different from Fox's results as what you would propose.

I think Coughlin is a good coach, but he's not the huge upgrade you fantasize about.

Tom Coughlin took an expansion team in Jacksonville and built them into a consistent playoff team for 5 straight years. He has done the same thing in New York for the last 4 years after he took over a 4-12 team. At least his teams are always consistent playoff teams unlike John Fox. Oh yeah and he has this thing called a super bowl ring. Something John Fox will never have as a head coach.

I think he's probably a better HC than Fox, I won't argue that point. But as I stated before I don't think he's a huge upgrade either. When Fox's days are done, I would rather they hire a young defensive minded HC (a la Spags, etc) than an old dude.

I assume you are retired on your lottery winnings, right?

I beleive it would be a huge upgrade. We would be trading inconsistency for being a consistent winner! Who wouldnt love to have that?

I would bet every penny I have that John Fox never wins a super bowl as a HC. Bank on it!

I'm all about getting rid of Fox has he simply doesn't bring enough to the table.....I don't think TC would be the direction to take the team. If I recall correctly right before the Giants one the Superbowl TC wasn't very popular wtih fans or players.

Eh, Tom Coughlin isn't anything special, You could see the GMEN declining as the season went on last year, and in the superbowl winning season, had not it been for 2 wide open dropped touchdown passes by Patrict Crayton and Anthony Fasano, the GMEN would have been blown out... Sure they made the playoffs the last 4 years, but three out of four they were completely outmatched an blown out.

Until Last year, every trip to the playoffs by the Panthers results in nothing less than a NFC Title game.

I don't know what you guys are all bawlin about Tom Coughlin for, but he's defenitly no upgrade to Fox, and I guarentee you tougher schedule and all, Carolina will out play the Giants this year.
