Plus what is there to deny? We haven't even seen our team play a game yet. Nobody can deny anything until they have actually seen something to deny?!?!?!?

Poor thread OP

That our team has played like crap. And I'll go ahead and say it because I'm tired of reading it "Its only preseason". I look at preseason in more of a individual performance sense instead of team perf. Its a time when its more read and react then working with a gameplan. But by the looks of it we could have used a little. I've seen our OLine, WR's, DB's, LBs... heck the whole 1st team handled against a Gaints team we couldn't barely slow down let alone stop and it wasn't much better against the Fins (aside from Superman Jr. Dwill).

We are dangerously thin on both lines. We are hemorrhaging yards on the ground because we have a bunch of scrubs starting at DT. There only two good things I can say so far this season: Our second teamers look good and its only preseason. So theres a hell of a lot evidence to support a "Doom" thread.

First that isn't true before Fox got here. We had one winning season from 1995 through 2001. Secondly under Fox we have had a bunch of 7-9 seasons but nothing worse. Given our expectations they might have been bad years but I imagine there were several teams last year for example who would feel that 7-9 wasn't so bad.

Finally we have had one losing season since 2004 and again that was 7-9. So this so called every other year cycle is really overblown.

you Fox lovers just kill me with this silly logic. For some reason you all accept mediocrity and inconsistency. Its as if you're telling us that we should be satisfied with 7-9 every other year since its not 1-15 . The fact is, we have had only 3 winning seasons in 7 years under Fox with four 8-8 or worse seasons. How anyone in their right mind can claim to love the panthers and be satisfied with this inconsistency is mind blowing.

Once we get a good starting caliber NT into our lineup I will feel a lot better. Until then I don't think we are a playoff team.

I want two DT's to be comfortable. Someone like Corey Williams would actually upgrade this defense even if Kemo wasn't out. Then we just need a big run-stuffer to get into the rotation. Get this and I think we have a top 10 D.

You supply your usual ignorant logic. Our first 7-9 season in 2002 was a huge improvement over the 1-15 season the year before so that hardly is an issue. In 2004 we had 13 starters on IR so 7-9 after going 1-7 means we finished up 6-2 with backups which set up the big run in 2005. It was perhaps Fox's best coaching job. With Jake out in 2007 and no backup quarterback we still went 7-9 which was another good head coaching job and an even better one by Davidson managing the offense in his rookie year..

Even in 2006 we were 6-6 with 4 games left when Jake went down and in the playoff hunt when Weinke took over.

No one is happy with losing seasons but even in his worse season we were in the playoff hunt right up to the end of the season.

Truth is that without critical injuries to key players, Fox has consistently fielded winning teams. But you already knew that. You just like to insert your little digs and negative crap whenever you can.

You're worse than trolls from other teams. At least they only come here for a few weeks and leave after the game. We have to put up with your crap all year long.

And the first people to snag him if we ever let go of him, will be your Giants.

I agree with you in that we have been inconsistent but I also agree with the posters after on our "Off" years we usually have a laughable amount of injuries to key players. It would be like the Giants losing Jacobs and Eli and an Olineman or two.

Injuries is an excuse and you know it! We still should have gone 9-7 or 10-6 in 2004 even with the injuries we had that year. We had no business losing to the saints and the raiders at home that year. We were still way better than them even with injuries. So what if we lost our starting QB in 2007? The patriots did the same last year and went 11-5. Blame Fox and company for bringing in lousy backups then. Yes, I remember we were 6-6 even before Jakes injury in 2006. Whats your point? You think .500 is good? Even with Jake we would have been crushed by the Giants and the steelers so we still would have finished 8-8. You can blame John Fox for calling that stupid lateral play in minnesota. That play essentually cost us a playoff spot.

Injury is an excuse! PERIOD!

Im not a Giants fan, but I would love it if they hired John Fox. That means Tom Coughlin would be available and then and my panthers could snag him. It would be awesome to finally have a REAL head coach after 15 years.
