*Jordan Taylor, WR, Rice (EW)

WR Jordan Taylor is 6-5/210 with a fantastic catch radius and great body control for his size. Draft Insider Tony Pauline has him going 5th-6th Round but says a good forty time could push him into the middle rounds. Here are two highlight-reel catches he made vs Texas A&M at the beginning of the 2013 season:

CBS Sports:

"WR Jamison Crowder, Duke (5-8, 174)

It can be tough for a 5-8, 174-pound wide receiver to stand tall in this type of all-star setting, but that’s exactly what Crowder did this week, showing the best combination of explosion and polish at the position. He has a tiny catching radius and small hands (8 3/8 inches), but caught everything thrown his way during drills, showing the ballskills and separation skills that will appeal to teams in search of an impact slot target"

*Ty Sambrailo, OT, Colorado State (SR)

..

OT Ty Sambrailo is ... is all over the place in the mocks. .. Will require some time in the weight room before he can play at the next level.

I've read that Sambrailo is having a tough Sr. Bowl, and he got abused by Nate Orchard in his last game at the Las Vegas Bowl.

Yep. He generated a bunch of negative buzz at the Senior Bowl. And in the Las Vegas bowl, Nate Orchard made him look like Byron Bell (and Nate Orchard at 6-3/251 is small/lightweigh DE, the type Sambrailo is supposed to match-up best against). NFL.com wrote that Orchard "got the better of the matchup and won on all cards in a unanimous decision."

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000446242/article/travis-wilson-utah-defense-lead-las-vegas-bowl-rout

this is what they thought about him at the Senior Bowl:

Senior NFLDraft Analyst, draftbreakdown.com Luke Easterling @ LukeEasterling

Ty Sambrailo really underwhelming so far this week. Reach-blocking too much, poor balance. #SeniorBowl

...

his week was fairly nondescript and disappointing. He didn't play with good balance, ending up on the ground a few times

https://m.yahoo.com/w/legobpengine/sports/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/nfl-draft-watch--senior-bowl-players-who-helped--hurt-themselves-194300834.html?orig_host_hdr=sports.yahoo.com&.intl=us&.lang=en-US&_device=tablet

FootballSavages.com Pete Smith @ PeteSmithFS

Ty Sambrailo had a tough start to the week and he needs

more strength in his legs.

Optimum Scouting Alex Brown @ OS_AlexBrown

During combo block drills, Trey Flowers and Markus Golden

handled Ty Sambrailo . Lacks functional power

CBS Sports Dane Brugler @ dpbrugler

There are a lot of things to like about Ty Sambrailo but his

NFL future comes down to two words: functional strength.

It's lacking right now

...

he might need a full year in a NFL weight and conditioning program until he has the requisite functional strength needed to hold up on the edges.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/nfl-draft-scout/24980468/senior-bowl-auburns-sammie-coates-steals-show-at-south-weigh-in

Dan Kadar of Mocking the Draft:

"Sambrailo's play clearly shows he's a player who has to add strength and may need to sit a year to do so in an NFL strength program. If he does get stronger, Sambrailo is a good left tackle candidate because of his flexibility and foot quickness. But defensive players often drove him backward and shed him during practices."

http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2015/1/23/7877005/senior-bowl-stock-report-nfl-draft

NFL.com:

"Mayock said he thought Sambrailo looked "very awkward" at guard during drills this week. "He's a good athlete with a nasty edge ... but he's not powerful at all," Mayock said."

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000462206/article/stephone-anthony-making-name-for-himself-at-senior-bowl

Colorado State Rams blog on Sambrailo:

"He's one of the best lineman to ever wear the CSU uniform...The Senior Bowl and the practices for the game were a good opportunity for Sambrailo to show he could hang tough against elite competition, but so far it hasn't gone particularly well for him. ... there most certainly..red flags surrounding Sambrailo...

(POOR STRENGTH/SHORT ARMS)

First and foremost is the matter of functional strength. ... He also has relatively short arms, which isn't necessarily a problem in itself, but when combined with a lack of strength, it can create a weakness that's easily exploited ... he'll likely have to..grow muscle..just..to earn a starting spot in the league. ... Sambrailo could really use a year on the sidelines to bulk up

(POOR BALANCE)

Another issue Sambrailo has to correct is..his center of balance... When you're already not exactly the strongest lineman on the field (like Sambrailo), you simply can't afford to give away even more leverage because..you aren't balanced. ... Sambrailo could really use a year on the sidelines to..adjust to the NFL game. (also note that the taller you are, the higher your center of gravity is, and Sambrailo is 6-5)

...

It seems highly likely that opinions on Sambrailo will vary pretty wildly from team to team. Players like Sambrailo are coveted in a more finesse-oriented, zone blocking offensive scheme, but a power running team is probably not going to be interested. Where ever he ends up, Sambrailo could really use a year on the sidelines...While his intelligence and his athleticism could probably keep him from getting completely overwhelmed, Sambrailo would likely struggle if he was forced to play as a rookie."

I've seen a mock suggesting that Ty Montgomery would be someone we would draft for kick returns also.

haven't found anything on how he looked as a returner, but Montgomery looked awful as a WR at the Senior Bowl:

NFL Draft Scout Matt Miller @ nfldraftscout

Ty Montgomery has consistently struggled to catch the ball here.

...

Drops, drops and more drops filled up my scouting notes on Ty Montgomery this week. He's not a refined or confident pass-catcher and fell out of too many routes. I even questioned his effort on passes over the middle during seven-on-seven drills and in team scrimmage sessions.

-Ty Montgomery with yet another drop. He is really really struggling.

-Texas CB Quandre Diggs erasing Ty Montgomery

Stanford WR Ty Montgomery is a powerful runner with great top speed but he struggled to track and catch the ball

Draft Analyst Tony Pauline @TonyPauline

Ty Montgomery/Stanford dropping more passes than he's

caught.

Optimum Scouting Alex Brown @ OS_AlexBrown

Ty Montgomery really struggled to win in press drills.

WR Ty Montgomery just isn't natural playing the position and it shows

Ty Montgomery dropping passes against air.

Packers writer Nick Schwalbach @ Draft_Packers

Ty Montgomery struggling in WR drills?!?! Shocker.

Yahoo Sports

"Stanford WR-KR Ty Montgomery — Listed at 6-2 in college, Montgomery measured in at under 6 feet and appeared to have the body of a running back, not a receiver. He has special teams value, but he struggled with consistency catching the football this week and might be more of a No. 4 or 5 wideout and return specialist."

He's fallen out of the 1st round with his terrible performance. Unless, he has a great game today.

muffed punt by Jamison Crowder in the Senior Bowl game

Joe Everett @ JoeWEverett 4m

A lot of #NFL people at the #NationalScouting weigh-in

scoffed at WR Jamsion Crowder's hand size [8 3/8] but its

certainly become an issue.

Luc Polglaze @ LucPolglaze 8m

Jamison Crowder just did himself serious stock damage.

I personally like the Sambrailo interest.  Yes, he was getting bull-rushed in the 1 on 1 drills and looked bad.  He got a holding and a false start during the game.  I think he is pressing because he got some negative press, feeling that he worked all week to see his stock drop a round or two.  He is not a bull dozing, 330 lb OT.  He is finesse, and what we gain by not giving up the undercuts or getting beat outside, we sacrifice a little with the bull rush---in year 1. A year on the weights could cure that.  You cant teach feet in the weight room.

In another matter:

I want Varga, the FB/RB from Yale.  Want him bad.  A younger, inexpensive, faster Tolbert.  A special team wizard.
