Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah Dead

Don't feel sorry for the 70,000 in the least. How many job were lost when skyrocketing oil prices caused companies to scale back or go under with fuel costs. If the prices hadn't gone to obscene levels in the first place most of those 70,000 would never have been hired in the first place. It sucks for you, and I get that but I know FAR more people hurt by crazy fuel costs than I do that benefitted from it.

Exactly, oil is in a ton of products. It is in our way of life, one way or another. Lower oil prices = lower production costs, lower transportation costs = win for lower income families

from an individual point of view it's a good thing as it's driven the gas prices way down

from a world wide basis though it has played havoc on the economy big time, leading to loss of jobs and projects etc.

Yet oil prices going up caused a lot of lost jobs too.  Works both ways just depends on which side of the fence you are on.

Agreed somewhere between $65-$70 a barrel is best.

I take $50-$60 at most, it helps my little family. Living in a technological shock through recent innovation is shaking things a wee bit of late. It probably be another 5 years to see true outcomes. Yeah, global economies from other countries that are not diversified as the US economyare going to be hurting.

the fuel that was bought at higher prices needs to be used then, then the prices will start dropping.

The planes are full, so no drops in site.

But if the low prices continue for a while, I think we will see another explosion of discount airlines.  And then the overpriced big airlines (American, Southwest, United etc...) will drop their prices to compete, in a few markets.
