Mel Kiper re-grades Panthers 2014 draft

A- is the correct grade.

You cant sit here and say well no T taken past 28 did good due to all the variables that go into such ie opportunity, coaching, etc. That is not even mentioning time to develop.

The fact of the matter is we needed 2 T's in a major way and we didn't even attempt to find a diamond in the rough or a person we could coach up into a serviceable player.

A bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush.

So which of our very promising rookies, which were also at positions of need, would you like to give up for this hypothetical tackle?

I really think some people forget just how many holes we had last year going into the draft.

The sheer fact that tackle and another receiver are our only real glaring weak spots right now is a testament to the job he did last offseason.

I don't understand how you knock the guy for not instantly filling a bajillion holes in one off season... a season where we had 30+ million committed to players who weren't even playing for us.
