Yes, stating facts is hyperbole.

You must be an English major!

Engineer major, I hated English.

Facts can easily be misleading, as you have demonstrated. It's hyperbole. Carolina drafted better than New England in 2010 & 2011. The Patriots had 7 picks in the 1st & 2nd Rd between those years, Carolina only had 2.

2010-

New England had 12 draft picks, including 4 of the first 62 overall picks. McCourtey (1st) and Gronkowski (2nd) are the only two remaining of the 12.

Carolina had 10 draft picks, including no 1st Rd pick and only 1 pick in the top 75 overall picks. Hardy (6th) is the only remaining of the 10.

2011-

New England had 9 picks, 1-7 Rd plus an extra 2nd and 3rd. Solder (1st), Vereen (2nd), & Cannon (5th) are the only remaining of the 9.

Carolina had 8 draft picks, including no 2nd Rder (which went to New England). Newton (1st) is the only remaining of the 8.

No one from 2009 either, and only Stewart from 2008. Just for "fun"...

2005: Thomas Davis - Longest tenured Panther with the Smith (2001) and Gross (2003) departures among others.

2006: DeAngelo Williams

2007: Ryan Kalil, Charles Johnson

2008: Jonathan Stewart

2009: Mother of God

2010: Greg Hardy*

2011: Cam Newton

Depending on the Hardy situation, at best that's 7 guys out of 7 drafts. At least his final draft class has been better thus far...but it's still early.

That right there, boys and girls, is not how you build a consistent winner.
