chud is better than shula.

being better than shula doesn't necessarily make him a good OC.

he's innovative, but he has no idea how to manage.

like rivera, he needs someone to manage game situations for him because both were/are pathetic in that regard.

Rough stretches screw with people's memories.

Heck, we've had people come on here acting like we should go back to Marty Hurney.

Yep. Chud was a fuging dumbass. 3rd and inches. Time for a 50 yard bomb!

Yes Chud is better than Shula, but you're going from Cancer to Aids.

This wasn't about Ron but more between Mike and Chud.

But to show Ron's growth he went from 6-10, 7-9, 12-4, 7-8-1, and have had two playoffs appearances. Like him or not but he has shown growth every year here, this year had 7 rookies starting (most UDFA) and still made the playoffs and won. Also he is one of two coaches left that were hired the same time. Him and Jason Garrett. Our last HC has only made the playoffs one more time then Ron, and he has now moved to his second team in the same time frame that Ron has been here.

Ron and Dave have set the foundation for the Panthers to win in the future, and I for one am excited to see the continued growth

Where do you see growth in that. We've pretty much stayed the same. Even went backwards. We made the playoffs because our division opponents happened to be worse than we were. Coaches making the playoffs the same time he was hired, that's irrelevant. There's coaches that made the playoffs their first year as a HC, AFTER Ron was hired

Your first sentence was about wins. Well Ron is sitting directly at .500 in 5 seasons as a HC. Keeping standing up and making excuses for mediocrity though

You have a 10 pt lead at the half....

Who you want?

Give me Shula. Chud's offense consistantly disappeared after a half and didn't know what to do.....it wasn't just defense blowing games. Chud was too

Agreed. It was flat out amazing how we would blow leads in those first 2 years

We blew leads cause our defense sucked and special teams always sucked

If Shula ran our offense in 2011 and 2012 with those defenses and special teams, Cam would have asked to be traded

Defense sucks when your offense literally does nothing from halftime on....then the last 3 minutes would try to muster up a comeback. Goes hand in hand.

Chud O imploded after a half consistantly...which hurt the D.

And we did come back in the 4th, only for the defense to lose the lead and kicker miss field goals

Both had their strengths and weaknesses while here. Chud had a more up to date offense, but seemed out to prove he's a genius. Shula has an older feel of an offense, but not a look at me attitude. Regardless, with conservative Ron as HC playing for a FG > scoring 3-4 TD's a game

I swear thats exactly what we did this year? Not saying chud didn't have his flaws but allowing him to grow as we have with ron would be better than whatever we keep holding onto with shula and rich rodgers.... good coordinator gets bashed for being a dick. Shula and rich suck but hey they are nice guys....stick around.

I can remember some 3rd and shorts this year with Cam throwing deep and out of bounds. I also remember a 3rd and short where we sent three guys on the same side of the field with nothing on the other side. Not even a crossing route.

I don't want Chud back. But I did prefer him over Shula. I'd be fine with someone better than both of them.

Somebody was mentioning all he remembers was trick plays. Chud did have quite a few trick plays that were memorable but that was 2% of the offense? I'd take those over Shula's long developing screen fakes. Or that thing he does where he puts Cotchery behind Cam, that works well doesn't it? Makes me miss the Legadu pass to Cam.

In Cam's rookie year he had something super valuable: open targets. Between Shockey, Olsen, Smith, and Lafel it always felt like Cam had someone to throw to. He didn't need to make the perfect pass when Shockey came uncovered to the sideline. Even Legadu had over 40 catches that year. We gained 6.2 yards a play in 2011, then 5.8. When Shula took over it dropped to 5.1 then up to 5.2. Our Chud chunks are gone. Cam has to grind out tough drives to get points these days.
