Gives them a week to negotiate a new contract if they want to keep him.

They could do that anyway, and could have at any point.

But realistically, why would he stay an 'offensive assistant' with OC jobs available?

They're certainly not moving Hamilton aside for him.

I don't care for Shula, but I Chud would be a step backward imo.

The players didn't like him and in his 2nd year we were arguably worse offensively than we are now.

No thanks.

Personally dont care what the players like all I care for is results. And how can you argue top offenses vs bottom teir?

Player/coach chemistry affects team performance.

If a number of players hate a coach, he won't last.

Not sure I heard enuff people say they hate chud to qualify for a full on mutiny. But players and coaches bump heads all the time like smitty and ken Lucas. Or mike singletary and Vernon Davis. Everyone doesn't have to like each other just work together. With that said I would think ron would be the ultimate say in any disagreements.

To argue how good of a coach chud is when shula and Wilks still have a pay check is beyond baffling. Basically chemistry and friendship trump results. In that way of thinking I suppose Deangelo will be back next year on the grounds of he's good for chemistry?

Since when did wins become a offensive stat? And I didn't know chud allowed 30 points a game.

Anyone can take stats and make them lean one way or the other. All that should matter is wins.

I'm not a shula advocate, and chuds offense was more "exciting". I remember sitting there watching tv when cam had his first game thinking that I haven't seen a Panthers offense throw this much or show this much energy since the seifert days. But you can't argue that the players hated playing for chud, his play calling was hated and had worse situational knowledge than shula does. All that matters is this.....

Carolina Panthers w/Shula

19-12-1 2 Playoff Appearances

Carolina Panthers w/Chud

13-19 0 Playoff Appearances

To be fair he had 1 year and not even a qb of his own. What would we look like if we fired ron after year 1?

but that actually shows what a disaster Chud is......

Clev hired Chud and he was such a joke they didn't even give him the opportunity to go get a QB.  That pretty much is a given unless you are horrible a team will give a new hire 1-3 years to find a QB.  Chud couldn't pass the basics.

Ron would have had to of been a complete disaster and obvious total fail for that.....basically he would have had to of been a Chud.  Ron gets respect.  People play for Ron.  Chud makes people scratch their heads.

This wasn't about Ron but more between Mike and Chud.

But to show Ron's growth he went from 6-10, 7-9, 12-4, 7-8-1, and have had two playoffs appearances. Like him or not but he has shown growth every year here, this year had 7 rookies starting (most UDFA) and still made the playoffs and won. Also he is one of two coaches left that were hired the same time. Him and Jason Garrett. Our last HC has only made the playoffs one more time then Ron, and he has now moved to his second team in the same time frame that Ron has been here.

Ron and Dave have set the foundation for the Panthers to win in the future, and I for one am excited to see the continued growth
