Round 4-6 for me.

I think he is a solid depth safety.  I don't think he will measure at a true 6'4(not that it is that big of a deal).  He does have good size, but he is certainly not an in the box safety.  He tackles well and usually takes good angles, but he is fairly easily blocked on the edge and you don't want that from you run support safeties.  I don't think he is quick enough to be a true centerfield safety either, I would be surprised if he ran better than 4.6.  He is somewhat of a mixture of both safety positions and is probably best suited for a Tampa 2 system where he can fulfill both roles. His best attribute is his tackling and I see him as a solid special teamer/backup swing safety that can play either role in a pinch.

They certainly could.  Seems like he either needs to add weight and learn how to take on blocks or lose weight and try to gain some speed to be a deep safety.  Right now he looks like an in the box safety, but plays like a deep center safety without the range.

I do really like his anticipation though.

I expect him to come into the combine at just under 6'3 210lbs.  If he can add 15 more lbs without losing any speed, you can certainly coach him on how to be a head hunter and a box safety, but right now he is not that.

There is a lot to like, but he has too many things that need to happen for him to be a top pick in my opinion.

He was a late 1st - mid 2nd rounder when the season started, but had an average year on an average team, in an average conference.

I believe the combine and his pro-day will vault him into the 2nd round range.  I don't think he will be there when we pick in the 3rd, so if we want him, probably have to spend a 2nd on him.

His frame, age, work ethic is too hard for some GMs to pass up on given his ceiling.

Ever since Kam Chancellor and the legion of boom started dominating , tall safeties stocks have never been higher. Last year Deone Buccanon was supposed to be a 2nd-3rd round pick but went in the first to Arizona. Now there is this guy who probably will be drafted in the 2nd round maybe late 1st. While I would love for us to draft a safety I don't see him available in the 2nd round for us.
