If you like a team and can't rattle off jersey numbers 1-99 and associate the names that go with the numbers, or give me any historical memories or statistics off the top of your head about your team, then you can't call yourself a fan.

I respectfully disagree with that statement. The vast majority of the NFL fan base in general is made up of the casual fan. That's the bread and butter of the NFL. People who couldn't name one offensive lineman on their "favorite" team, like a team because their new boyfriend pulls for them, likes a team because of one player, colors, mascot, etc. They make up what the NFL is built on and every team has them, not the fans that hang out on message boards dissecting the zone read option or know the proper psi of an NFL football.

BTW - I couldn't come close to rattling off jersey numbers 1-99 and all the names associated with each one of them and I doubt most people on here could. Jersey number association for the entire team is just not something I retain or even care to honestly. I could however rattle off 15 or more current players from each NFL team and hold an intellectual conversation about any team, any player, in any era. I consider myself a fan and a knowledgeable one at that.

For me it is not hating the team.  I envy them.  They are exactly what I want the Panthers to become.  I think Wilson is over hyped, but all he does is make plays.  The Seattle defense is among the greatest to ever play the game.  Especially in today's game where the rules have been altered to cater to the offense.

I'm sick of the 12th man garbage, and the seismologist explanations of how the earth moved when Lynch ran it in against the Saints.  I think the whole thing is overdone.  Seattle has some great fans, but their noise is more attributed to creative stadium design rather than "the 12's"

honest question, and I know that's never a real good idea here on the huddle, but what the hell!

how is it possible for panther fans to hate the Seahawks and their fans? (myself not included of course)

Sherman and Wilson. Polar opposites in the spectrum of different types of d-bags. I sincerely like the rest of the team, the uniforms, the homefield advantage and the style of play. Those two combine to bring it all down in my opinion.

i hate the seahawks. i hate your depressing city, i hate your ridiculous colors, i hate your delicious coffee, and i hate nirvana. frazier sucked, the supersonics left, and yall's love for soccer is just downright unpatriotic. i assume that most of your team is on PED's, and the 12th man is actually sheisty stadium based around utilizing noise. whats to like?

im pretty sure "tossed salad and scrambled eggs" are prison favors.

I think there are only a few people here who literally "hate" another team and their fans.

Personally, I don't have a problem with the Seahawks.

Though I have to say, the whole 12th man shtick is getting rather pretentious, the more bandwagoners jump on the less I take any of it seriously. If I'm being honest it's starting to remind me of all the Miami Heat fans that suddenly came into existence and then disappeared.

I know you are not one of those fans though Hawk, so I'm obviously not talking about you. Some new people here aren't familiar with you.

Side note - Which game of the 2015 season do you think the Panthers at Seahawks game will occur?  Doubt the NFL does Seattle dirty and make it the Thursday night kickoff game, but it could be in the conversation. Or maybe GB vs. SEA as the 1st game?

Curious to see where in the season people think they will schedule us against SEA..... we've quite the recent mini-rivalry going on, though we're 0-4.

No one will admit it but the reality is that they are jealous. Jealous the Seahawks have had our number the last several years and have been very successful afterwards.

And now they are scared that we will have to listen to nothing but Seahawks crap for the next 10 years like brady.

It's easy to hate than appreciate.

How is it possible? Like you guys are so holy and noble that it shouldn't even be possible?

I hate you.

I had thought about this myself.  If Seattle wins (which I think they will) then they will play the kickoff game.  Green Bay was up there last year so I doubt they repeat that.

If I were to guess I would say Pittsburgh gets that game.  We could very well be a night game though.  I figure we will play one Thursday game and then winning the division makes us good for at least one prime time game, that is as good as any.

Beyond that though I have no idea except that it will not be Week 17

I will be honest with you. I don't hate the Seahawks. I actually like the team and how it is built. Our two teams are so much alike. Old school football with pounding the rock and having a lockdown defense. Bandwagons really don't bug me too much. It happens in all sports. I have a new found respect for Wilson. After that unpredictable comeback win over the Packers, he went to pray and was just crying his heart out. To me, that is what it is all about. He seems humble and give respect where respect is due.  Good luck to your team in the superbowl. I hope you guys win. You deserve it.
