I don't know how Norwell went undrafted but I remember reading that if Trai stayed another year he would have been a 1st round pick in the upcoming draft.

being able to draft like this, especially with the rookie cap in place, is going to be crucial in the coming years.  a GM can build a deep roster with a sizable number of players playing at a high level but still on cheap rookie deals.

Crazy. Such an amazing draft for us, and UDFA signings. Norwell and Turner are definitely worth 2nd rounders, and Philly would probably be a mid rounder. Only pick that wasn't an amazing pick was Gaffney and that was more just because we were unlucky. If he hadn't gotten hurt maybe he would've showed out at some point during our year. By the way, does he get a Super Bowl ring if the Patriots win it?

If the draft is re-done:

- Turner early in the second round.

- Boston in the third round.

- Norwell drafted in the third.

- Brown drafted in the seventh.

Gotta think brown warrants a 3-4th rounder. He was injured for awhile and also had to wait for avant to get cut to get considerable playing time. He's done very well given his limited reps.

it'd be funny if gaffney got hardware out of the whole ordeal.  similar to the saints picking up marlon favorite after we chopped him to get down to 53 in 2009.  he never played a snap but got a super bowl ring out of it.

Just imagine if we can end up heavy with talent in a position the potentials for trading for positions of need or more draft picks. Could any of these guys turn into a quality LT in a trade?
