Is next season the most important season ever for this franchise?

I feel next season could very well be the most important season this organization has had in quite some if ever. Ofcourse every season is "important" but next season in particular is a "cross roads" season. There is no DOUBT whatsoever Rivera will be gone if we have a losing season.

I think when Getlleman said we wont be shopping at the dollar store anymore, that was a sub conscious shot to Rivera basically saying Rivera was off the hook this past season because of how cap challenged we where, but by Gettleman going on record saying we can "step up a class." That was also his way of letting Rivera know there will be no excuses whatsoever next season.

After Gettleman's press conference, you get this sense of "win now " urgency next season. Next season will be a tale of two paths. Path A. Make the playoffs three years in a row which would be absolutley huge for this franchise and have a legit shot at atleast the NFC title game.

Path B. Have a losing season and the Rivera era comes to an end and Gettleman will rebuild the entire coaching staff from scratch with his guys he chooses and will basicially be given the keys to the kingdom so to speak.

Either way, as a Panthers fan this next season might be the most exciting season in ages. Dont get me wrong, My first and only choice would be playoffs, but if we have a losing season, a part of me would love to see what kind of coaching staff he would bring in and there is no doubt in my mind that Gettleman wouod bring in a top notch HC if his evaluation of players is any indication.

It is the most important season because it is our next season

Learned that in Cliche: 101

As long as we take it one game at a time, we can find a way to win.

I also took Cliche: 101

Side note: I love Cam but he should take Cliche 101 because he has flat fugged up a few cliches in his interviews.

That is part of his charm. Simple and plain

Next season is definitely an important season for this team and front office. We have to get better on offense and we can't afford to take a step back on defense. This season i'm looking at the possibility that Cam has a breakout year with him being fully in the system and healthy this offseason with no setbacks in his development. The front office needs to show the ability to get better with the signing of free agents and drafting of players. They have done a outstanding job to this day but we have to keep the consistency going if we plan on being in the title discussion year in and year out like Seattle, Green Bay, and New England. I think the sky can be the limit for this team next year!

I can't in good faith look at a season where we owe one DE $20M against the cap.      $17M against the cap for RBs (Dwill, Stew ,Tolbert)....and the worst LT still on the roster..  and claim it the most important season ever.        Maybe if we upgrade LT, #2 WR,  and work  out a new deal with Charles Johnson that frees up some extra cap space to sign a decent player in FA..and cut Dwill..   I can then look at the upcoming season with high in the sky hopes.
