Don't complain about Richardson when Nascar does this

It is a regional sport native to the South that tried to expand onto a national level but paid the price of losing its identity. The regional tracks in the small communities like Wilkesboro and Rockingham were scrapped and as a result NASCAR lost its core fanbase that helped build the sport. It's like taking the Packers and moving them to L.A.

When you alienate your loyal fans in favor of the empty promise of expanding into fair weather markets, you're asking for trouble. As far as the HOF is concerned, it would have been better served in Concord or Mooresville where the race teams are or even the Speedway itself. Not right in the middle of downtown couple blocks away from another entertainment venue in TWC Arena. Once again, NASCAR trying to be something they're not.

Ah Honkyham lol that's a name I haven't heard in a while wow that speedways been dead a long time

Sport: an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.

It's definitely a sport. It involves more physicality than baseball, golf, etc. and easily fits the rest of the definition

Lol I grew up with a Nascar driver, he was definitely no athlete but his parents had money and ambition for him a career in racing.

Hit the nail on the head. NASCAR should have stayed true to its southern roots. It's a niche sport and I'll always love it because I grew up with it. I'm surprised more people on this forum don't appreciate the cars and tech that go into it, but the "racing" has sucked for years (it is improving).

The NASCAR driving experience, although a bit pricey, might change some of your minds. 150+ MPH speeds, driving by yourself with a spotter, at CMS which is an awesome track. The most fun I've ever had with my pants on!

Sitting and watching cars go around an oval track for three hours is like watching paint dry. Except for the occasional multi-car pile up and the last two laps, where is the entertainment value? Don't know if waiting for collisions can be considered entertainment. Thank God for football and basketball.
