Deflate-Gate: Patriots Being Investigated For Deflated Footballs

Everyone's opinions are biased. That's what humans do. Nobody in this thread is looking at the situation and saying "Oh yes I am utterly objective." As Panthers fans your opinion is going to be colored already.

I'm a Panthers fan, 100%. The Patriots aren't even any sort of 'second team' to me, go back and find gameday threads from when we've played them, I cheer as hard as for any other game. Ted Ginn burning them in 2013 was my favorite moment of the past few years.

Some matters I want to defend them on and I'm not objective. That's.... really not a big deal.

I've spent years on personal reflection to be as unbiased as possible. you'd be surprised how approaching every argument or problem while being completely objective will get you much farther ahead in life. Upon this reflection I've substituted the Patriots with another team, the titans, a team I am completely indifferent to. The result (my opinion) was the same. Cheating is cheating and the team should lose draft pick/s.

You admitting to being biased makes your argument even that much worse, which is saying a lot as it was pretty terrible to begin with.

See, this is what really grinds my gears. Now, I never played American Football, but I did grow up playing rugby and soccer as a kid. And any child knows what its like to kick a football in cold weather or play with one that's going flat. Its why they sell most footballs with pumps.

 

And here I am listening to Tom and Bill try and act like they know nothing about footballs. Yet on a cold day when its most beneficial to deflate a football we coincidently find 11 balls tampered with. It's insulting to be perfectly honest. Its like catching a five year old telling the most ridiculous lie ever.

I think there is a bit of a cover up going on.  What was today actually about?  I think there was some pre-investigation positioning going on:

 

• An attempt to put this to rest on their end so they will not be asked about it all week.---  To trivialize the ordeal.  (BB was "embarrassed" by the amount of time he had to spend on this--ready to focus on something more important--this is an attempt to make himself the victim by having to spend his precious time on nonsense).
• To win over the public and put pressure on the NFL-maybe preventing them from using the science behind ball deflation.  If the NFL presents data that shows the balls would not lose 2 lbs of pressure in 2 hours in any weather, they can say that it contradicts their study)
• To put blame on the refs--(Johnny Cochran found fault in the LAPD, for example)

The NFL needs to ask:

 

1. Why were the Colts' balls in compliance?

2  If the balls were deflated as suggested by rubbing, temperature, and atmospheric conditions, why was 1 ball inflated properly?

3. Do the equipment managers know how Brady likes his shoulderpads, helmets, facemask placement on that helmet, etc. without having to ask him every game?  If so, would they also know how he likes his footballs inflated?  If so, has Brady not made public comments about ball inflation? 

 

 

 

 

 

Did anyone notice Bill's attitude about spygate?  Did he sound like a man remorseful about breaking rules and tarnishing the shield? No, he was still making excuses about trying to gain unfair advantages.
