Deflate-Gate: Patriots Being Investigated For Deflated Footballs

Recommended Posts

Everyone's opinions are biased. That's what humans do. Nobody in this thread is looking at the situation and saying "Oh yes I am utterly objective." As Panthers fans your opinion is going to be colored already.

I'm a Panthers fan, 100%. The Patriots aren't even any sort of 'second team' to me, go back and find gameday threads from when we've played them, I cheer as hard as for any other game. Ted Ginn burning them in 2013 was my favorite moment of the past few years.

Some matters I want to defend them on and I'm not objective. That's.... really not a big deal.

Also, nice to see the Patriots defender in this thread isn't shy about admitting his "cousin once played for the Patriots" and he therefore lets his opinion be personally biased.

My question is, why on Earth would you waste any time and energy defending an opinion that you know is biased?

I actually respect the guy a ton more since finding out he had family on the Patriots team. For me, I appreciate him defending his family a little. Of course, I still think he's misguided for jumping in front of that Patriots bus but at least he has a good reason.

I don't mind people having biased opinions, especially when they get illogical and desperate. LOL....Slapping some common sense on an Patriots apologist head is rather entertaining.

The line simply connects the dots each year. 2.5% in 2006 drops to under 1.5% in 2007.....The trend is a direct result of the rules being changed in 2007.

Not just that alone - the rate stayed roughly the same for the league as a whole that year, meaning the Pats are outliers there as well.

You just can't accept you're wrong. Just move on. Take up a hobby. Need me to send you some models to build?

    • The other draft picks have turned out pretty well. Brooks will too.
    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
