If Cam threw 4 interceptions in a game...

RW3 threw four picks in a playoff game. Still won. I guess he sucks.

RW3 is a baller. Guy is clutch, and shows tremendous ability under pressure.

Sounds like a bunch of jealousy in this thread.

Never seen the like of people who will jump through hoops to make excuses for every other QB in the league, but when someone provides reasons or rationale for Cam, they get all huffy and holier-than-thou and start referring to oral stimulation of testicles.

it's true

why can't the selfless heroes who defend us all from the scourge of the "cam huggers" on this site stop talking about balls and dicks

Yeah, happens. Granted, that's an extreme example of Cam "haters".

Wilson has a 98.6 passer rating since entering the league. There's no way to spin that as being a bad passer.

I agree that Wilson is good, or very good. So don't misinterpret my post

But passer rating doesn't tell you too much and isn't always an indicator of a good pure passer.

Trust me, I'm not the one who lacks the intellect to see it the truth.

Cam had a pretty poor team this year to work with along side injuries.

But when both teams needed a big play in our last game, who came up with one? Cam and his pick 6? His near interception that, well, pretty much SHOULD have been an interception by Earl Thomas? His pick STRAIGHT AT Richard Sherman trying for Philly Brown?

Or Russel for his dynamite pass over the top of Bene? His quick pass to the TE? His scrambles that picked up first downs.

Russel was completely awful yesterday. AWFUL. However, when it mattered most and he HAD to come through and made incredible perfect throws to bring his team to victory.

When Cam needed to make a big play.... pick 6. Didn't even try to chase the guy down.

Russel Wilson 2 super bowls. Cam has 1 playoff win against a 4th string quarterback. He had an amazing defense last year, unstoppable front 7. A home game.

Look Cam has a very bright future and may very well bring us a super bowl (he better for the money he's gonna get.) but Russel is 5-0 against Cam. Remember that time Cam threw it straight into the dirt at the end of the game?

Your allowed to think Cam is better and truth be told, you are correct, my opinion isn't any better than anybody elses.

Lol jesus christ. The intellectual dishonesty (or flat out bullshitting, haven't figured out which yet), is on another level in this thread.

I read something this morning on cat scratch reader that had a similar message to it.  I see both sides of the argument, but my opinion lies in the shades of grey.

For 55 minutes, Wilson had a terrible game.  Then he proceed to make plays when given the chance.  We have yet to see Cam come out and really do that consistently in huge games.  We've had a few in his time.  Cam has certainly played big in big games for us, but as someone else pointed out, he's not lead us back from a 10+ point deficit...

For all the love of Wilson, he's earned it.  Two Super Bowls back to back....  He has generally played well via the numbers game (turnovers to TDs) and been money when the spot light is on him (like last week against us).  If anything, he's earned the ability to play like garbage, then "save" the game.  Folks are going to harp on the fact that Green Bay basically laid down and invited Seattle to win.  Do you take away the incredible throws (or prayers as some call them) he made?  He took the opportunities give and led his team.

We'd all love to see Cam do this.  See Cam firing up the rest of the team, getting the ball back and creating several TDs in the final few minutes of a game to win.  We're still waiting.  Wilson has made great plays.  So what if he has the best D and one of the best running games in the world? When it came to making the throws, they were spot on.  Sure they gave him the opportunity, but do you blame him for having a great supporting cast?

I love Cam, and I believe in him.  I believe he will lead us to the ultimate goal of a Super Bowl victory.  Has the team around Cam failed?  Have his receivers failed?  That's a really good question.  Seattle has a wonderful coaching staff, and they built a team to win with their defense and running game.  Carolina needs to do that as well.  We're not there yet.  Against Seattle we were several "small" plays from being able to win.  An inch here, half a foot there kind of things.  We're close, but not close enough which is very painful as a fan.

TL/DR - Wilson has earned the ability to play crappy and then get anointed the savior of the game.  Cam hasn't yet.  There' still a lot of football to go for both these guys.  People hate on Wilson for the game and the team, yet he is still the one who made those throws.  Football truly is a game of inches, and we came out on the wrong side of them this time.

miss the bears game this season?  or the dolphins in 2013?

this why there's a lack of credibility to these kind of arguments.  the people making them usually get basic facts wrong.

I did.  My caffeine intake in not sufficient this morning!  Does that invalidate my entire post?  Probably not (at least I don't think so, but then again I'm biased!).

To look at things differently:  If we'd won against Seattle, and beaten the Packers in a similar fashion, then there would be a very different narrative.  About Cam "growing up" and "maturing" as a QB.  About how he was "finally becoming a leader of men" or some other BS.  I do believe there is a media bias against Cam, but winning will change that around.

This is "Amurica," we love winners and stories.  Wilson has the story of being the short, 3rd round, 3rd QB when he came to Seattle.  Cam was the National Championship and Heisman winning QB picked #1.  Which has a better underdog story?  Who's had the bigger wins?  QBs get too much credit and blame.

Cam can cure the bias by being the winner.  It doesn't matter how, but if the TEAM starts winning big, and he makes some of these inches throws, then Cam's story changes.

We'll just have to wait until next season to see if we are able to make the changes required to change the story for the entire Panthers team.

Cam does not come out on the positive end of the spectrum in many comparisons with Russel Wilson. The guy graduated from NC State with a communications degree in 3 years. He took graduate level classes at Wisconsin during his time there. The guy is smart and it shows on the field. Cam is better from the neck down but that's about it. Put Wilson's head on Newtons body and then you will have a "greatest of all time QB" like many here think Newton already is.

Lynch made the plays to get ahead.  They took the ball away from Wilson's arm. Once they were tied but with momentum on their side, they let Wilson arm make plays again.  Take the pressure off him.
