C'mon Dex, no one in this thread is saying Cam is perfect. Everyone here knows he has his flaws.

But Squirrel literally came in this thread to poo on Cam and stir up poo.

​He's backpedaling and saying "I"m just criticizing him!!" to save face. It's not like he was saying "Cam still has problems he needs to work on." He's making it sound like Cam is complete trash who can't do these things, even though we all know he can and we've seen him do these things.

Yeah some people are going to blindly defend their team and their QB, that's sports. But most of these people here aren't calling out Squirrel for criticizing Cam, everyone has valid complaints, but this is straight up bashing and belittling him.

I said I shared some of his concerns. Not all of them. I don't think he's posting stuff like that to get a rise out of people. I believe its more frustration. The loudest voice gets heard. Cam is absolutely NOT injury prone. He has the potential to be a top 8-12 quarterback through the air if he can fix the issues we all see. Will he ever be a top 5 elite quarterback? Way too early to tell.

You can tell a lot about a product by how they advertise it to you. For example, if I see a hotel that is advertising 'clean rooms' that tells me there's enough evidence to suggest the rooms may not be clean that the hotel feels the need to reassure you that they are.

 

Similarly when I see all this stuff put out trying to build up Cam as a franchise QB it tells me they're trying to sell it because they know there are doubts.

Gettleman has done all he can so far, because of the salary cap nightmare he inherited. He has done a masterful job of fielding a pretty good squad in spite of limitations that would put other teams in full rebuilding mode. Now that the worst is behind them, I believe Gman will do everything in his power to provide the offensive players Cam needs to become what he's absolutely capable of: consideration as the best QB in the League. If you can't see that Cam has that kind of talent, that fire to be great, then you aren't paying attention. He will win Super Bowls, and he will do it here. Gettleman will see to that.

I think the problem people have with some of Cam's criticisms is the absolutes that seem to come with it alot

Carson was actually having an excellent year and was undefeated before his injury. What is your idea of a fair contract for Cam that is also not going to cripple us? Keep in mind we need to sign Keeks, possibly Hardy, Star, KB, Norman.

While I believe he is adequate when it comes to reading defenses he does struggle with looking off defenders. I noticed Cromarte, LOB and a few others reading Cam like a book. He tends to lock in on receivers and force throws. Doesn't help when you're throwing off your back foot into tight windows either. You can say that's coaching but I believe Cam can improve on that on his own. The offensive line was offering great pass protection for most of the last 6 games. Aside from the obligatory Byron pressure. As for reading defenses he's improving on it pre snap but still struggles when the ball is live. He tends to throw the ball once the receivers route has ended rather than anticipating the throw. Pressure, WR routes etc all factor in so it's not all Cam's fault but it's another area where he can improve. He's not known for picking apart defenses through the air. Just one Huddler's opinion.

This is fair. I think during that horrid o line play stretch cam became somewhat shell shocked and regressed in his footwork. He did start hearing footsteps that were not there.

Some people have also alluded to the fact that him running so much wears him down and he becomes sloppy with his footwork because his legs are tired. I think that is also fair when looking at the games where he stayed in the pocket because of his ankle. A lot of us thought he was about to take it to the next level.

I don't know where this 150 million dollar talk is coming from. I see cam getting anywhere between 30-45 mill gauranteed. You cant sit there in contract negations and expect cam to sign a kap type deal with only 16 mill gauranteed with incentive escalators when he has been such a large portion of our offense and he has proved what he can do with very little.

He doesn't deserve top qb money but he deserves that gauranteed money for what he has done and what he is capable of doing in the future. He's younger than all the young qbs even though he has played one more year and only had one year of top college ball. He has progressed every year even if he regressed in certain portions of the year. He has progressed as a leader, I still believe he has progressed as a passer this year even if it was inconsistent.

There is a lot to be excited about and from what I've read and seen he has the will to put in the work. We are very lucky to have him and I hope he stays here for his entire career

Seriously, some hotels promote "clean rooms" because they offer rooms that are clean and reasonably priced. I'm not much into conspiracy theories either but that's just me.

From my understanding that gauranteed money on kaps contract is false. He essentially got 16 mill. They can cut him today and not owe him anything

They know there are doubts because carolina for the large part have shitty fans who think we should draft gurley in the first round because they are all huck it chuck it football fans

Tell that to the Saints and Patriots. (before Brady took the pay cut.) 5 years 90 million 50 guaranteed may may not get it done but I feel is adequate. Spread the guaranteed over the 5 years. 10 million a year.
