I have never made that statement on this board or in real life.

 

I have stated that I believe Derek Anderson to be a mediocre journeyman...and yet just as good a pure passer as Newton.

 

 

And yet my point is still valid. He is not 'just as good a pure passer', he's not as talented and the stats reflect that.

 

 

Consider that the lion's share of Anderson's stats come from before 2010...this is crucially important because the completion percentage of NFL QB's overall has increased by an average of 8% over the last 5 years with TD's going up and INT's going down.

 

its not crucially important when you consider that DA started his last 3 years in college so he came into the league with more full speed reps (it matters), he also wasnt thrust into the starting role his rookie year. also if you look at his one good year he had like a 6 or 7 game stretch where he balled out but wasnt very good in the other games. dont let two games against the team thats on the clock already for the draft fool you.
