Madden 15 sliders?

lightsout

Recommended Posts

So I've hit a problem. The way I run my franchise (coach), I play my offense and super sim the defense. I play on all-pro with 10 minute quarters, as I feel this is the closest to simulating real stats (especially defensive stats).

Anyway, I've gotten too good with my current Panthers roster to continue on...that and I still throw 30 picks in a season because the AI jumps routes that they have no business jumping and rarely drop INTs.

Anybody have any good sliders that they use or know of the best to download? I tried one set, but it made it waaaaaaaay too easy.

To give you an idea of what I'm experiencing/my level of play, here is what a typical game looks like.

Cam throws for at LEAST 350 yards and 2 TDs (usually 3 or 4), and rushes a few times for around 50 yards a game (in game-year 2017 now...and Cam is coming off of back to back years of throwing for over 6,000 yards. Last season being 6,597 yards with 70 TDs....20 to Philly Brown, mostly because KB got injured, but still....).

My running backs split carries pretty often, but my primary back gets around 100 yards, with Stew getting around 50-75, plus Cam's rushing totals. My RB is a guy I drafted...coming off of a 2,020 yard. 24 TD season (good for 5th best all-time).

Defense can't stop anybody. Not a bad front 7 either. Still got CJ, Luke, TD, KK, Star, Ealy, and Klein. All at or above 85 overall, except for Klein, who is at 80. Back-end is basically our secondary, but with good safeties (after a LOT of game prep drills to get the young safeties up to respectable levels). I end up in shootouts in most games. Scores of like, 70-35 or, in the Super Bowl, 48-45.

So, what should I do to make this more of a challenge?

Human

Run Block: 61

Pass Coverage: 80

CPU

Pass Block: 60

Pass Defense Reaction: 18

Pass Coverage: 67

That's what I have it on mine. Since you have problems with passing being too easy, I'd increase the reaction times and coverage for CPU. Then lower Human run block to make running harder.

To help your pass defense, Increase the Pass defense reaction and Pass coverage for Human.

The reason I have Reaction low and Coverage high for CPU is because it makes for more realistic passing. A defender doesn't run 30 yards to make a miracle INT every time and doesn't automatically know where your throwing every time. The defender covers his zone and makes a play if the ball is near him. Just like real life.

That last link you provided, I used that guys sliders that he had uploaded in the PS4 version. They worked OK, but I was still tearing into teams (granted, not by as much). Maybe I'm just much better at this game than I give myself credit for. Even with the crazy route jumping the CPU does, I've gotten my interceptions down a LOT just by throwing a bit more dink and dunk and user catching the deep balls at times.

Gonna try your settings out, see how it feels. If I make any other changes, I'll post them in here. Surely some people want to tweak their sliders too. The default settings just feel very unbalanced at times.

For ps4 i use http://www.operationsports.com/forums/madden-nfl-football-sliders/757618-armor-swords-all-pro-slow-simulation-style-sliders.html

These are meant for coach mode in franchse, to get realistic stats, and gameplay. and you have to play with some house rules.  Don't use coaching suggestions when picking defensive plays and try not to use community suggestions or recent plays on offensive. Both help to not exploiting the game through gimmy plays, so try picking different plays, not the same 5 or so. Also do not switch players on defense, if you can just play as a safety and click the right thumbstick to stay as that player, controling a de/dt will make getting sacks easier. On offense, let the wr catch it themselves and afterwards control them. Catching is 80 anyway. Hail mary passes and streak plays when the wr looks like he isn't looking for the ball, then feel free to. Pretty much let the attributes dictate the game and not you the user.

I change intentional grounding in penalties to 77 because for some reason it affects the cpu qb and reduces sacks. Depending on if the qb runs alot or checks down way too often even though there is a wr wide open down the field you may have the setting too high or too low. A person in the thread recommands 77 as the sweet spot.

I lowered run blowing for player to 20 and increased tackling for cpu to 40. Even still running is too easy, exspecially when confidence hovers past 60. It also may take awhile to get used passing, as accuracy for qb is low. Through trial and error, you'll notice just to have cam set his feet and not move the stick. I found deep passes easier to lead, short ones dont even mess with the stick unless a defender is drapped all over the wr, then throw it the opposite direction the defender is or in the direction the wr is running, or you'll get a easy int. But for the most part just wait and hit a wide open wr/te/rb. Take what the defense gives you, if nothing is open, then take off running.

Also when game planning, don't increase cofidence unless certain players get below 50, it can make the game too easy. And don't use experience for both players and coaches till the offseason. If you want don't use game plan at all. Skip it and make sure the cpu doesn't do it for you. It'll make the game feel even more realistic as players get xp only from the games you play. Same goes for ups and downs in confidence.

So I am trying these out (the earlier recommendation in this thread made passing marginally more difficult, but I still threw for 584 yards and 5 TDs against the best defense in my franchise's league...). Only played one half, and I'm trying REAL hard to not switch defensive players. Holy poo it is a different kind of game. The slow gameplay makes a LOT of difference. Now more wailing on the right stick in piles. Now I can actually make those useful cuts and whatnot. And the player threshold being 0 really shows speed differences, which I like. Really, so far, realistic stats. Realistic play. Not much room for error, but it feels like a really good sim (which is what I want).

One question on the link, though. His sliders....I'm assuming the numbers in parentheses is the incremental difference between that version posted and the previous version?

UPDATE: Won 24-21. Very reasonable stat line for both teams as well. It also brought back the feeling of urgency and being excited when I got an interception or a big stop on 3rd down. Knowing I had to settle for that field goal to go up 24-14 because I knew they'd probably score again was also a cool feeling. Ordinarily, from 3 yards out, I'd just go for it. Even with the 7 minutes left in the game. But, reason prevailed. lol

Can't stop the run too well, but I have two rookies as outside backers and my DEs are both young, so I expected it. Got gashed by Gio Bernard for 120 yards, but stopped the pass to the tune of 3 picks. Definitely has a realistic vibe while playing it. Didn't get too upset at my lone interception because it was a really dumb decision on my part. Passing is as hard as I've had it. Still threw for 275 yards and 3 TDs, but that's the first time in a looooong time that I didn't break the 350 yard mark. So, I like it. Probably have to tweak a couple of things with it as I go, but so far I like the way it plays.

Sim football is what i want too.

Yeah your right about the parentheses number, so just don't pay attention to it. He still hasn't changed intentional grounded to 77.  Yeah you have to change your playing style to get any slider to work correctly, otherwise it'll be too easy. Just make sure to player lock and you won't be able to change once the ball is snapped. The problem with franshise mode is that confidence plays a key role, that once most if not all of the players on your team get above 60 it'll break any slider set you use.

Wow 24-21, thats awesome. I just had a game between the panthers and eagles. The eagles took a 2nd quater lead of 21-3, i eventually came back to win 28-21. 2 tds to philly brown and one to kelvin. I have philly starting over jericho. Cam had a 80 percent completion percentage. I was like 35-40 passing. I think i past 300 yards or was close to it.  Though i mixed in passes with runs, never running or passing 3 times in a row. So pass, run, pass. Run pass run, or pass pass run, etc. At this point though i had a 7 game win streak so my teams confidence was high.  Foles had a long td pass but was able to keep him in check the rest of the way, mccoy ran all over me though in the first half. I decided to stop blitzing and just play more zone.

I hardly go for it unless for some reason the ball is hovering right over the first down marker. Ugh game hello that should be a first down!

I was playing recently and the game kept spitting out the same plays to run on offense.  I highly recommand if you can to try not to do that. Mix up the run and pass and try different formation and plays.  Trick is not to try to cheese the game.

I didn't get a int at all in my last game; however, i still notice even when picking my own d plays that pass defense is too easy. But the way i see it if i tamper with anything ill just mess it up. Need a way to ramp up the cpu passing either by increasing qb accuracy for them, or lower reaction time for the player. Pass blocking for them is already at high, so must be something on the player slider end.  Pass rush maybe need to be lowered. Though i don't want some scrub playing like tom brady either.  I just player lock onto a safety and let the ai do the work, unless i see the rb get the ball, then i control to hurry my ass over there to tackle the guy without switching players.

So far, my style works well for the slider set. The problem for me is the confidence numbers. The majority of my team has been with my team for 2 years or more...I won 2 super bowls, then lost the 3rd won (simmed it hoping to lose, honestly).

So, most of my guys have 99 confidence. Hoping with these sliders and the fact that I know I'm going to lose some games, that I'll have a bit of trouble with confidence later on.

It would be really nice if confidence reset to 50 during the offseason. Ive tried to change schemes in hopes that it would lower confidence. You can sign players that don't belong in your scheme and they will start off with a low confidence of 25. Too bad we can't trick the game by changing schemes, playing a game, and change them right back so confidence lowers, but it doesn't happen nor does changing player's positions

ha no wonder i blew out the falcons last game, matt ryans confidence was low at 25. I was able to throw 4 tds to kelvin benjamin and close to 200 yards receiving. I looked at his confidence and it was a 99, no wonder he kept getting open.

How do you call plays on offense and defense? Ask coach or pick your own? I found the computer is more competitive if i choose one of the coaches recommandations on defense.

So I'm finding confidence to be a major key in how this game is played. I'm thinking I just need to not resign some guys here and there. It's hard to lose with the roster I've got because I've built this team to be invincible, really. I have the best DL in the league (the 4 finalists for best DL in the season I just finished were my 4 starters). Cam is literally perfect (99 on every passing related category). KB and Philly are a solid 94 and 86, respectively. After that, a bunch of 70's rated WRs. My starting RB is 94 overall and the best RB in history, really. Broken damn near every record possible except yards in a game and TDs in a game. His backups are a rookie and a random FA for depth. Olsen is aging and under contract for 2 more years, and behind him is a 2nd year guy who isn't very good and a random FA who also isn't very good. OL is solid for then next 3 seasons. LBs are the same I've had, and all 88 overalls and higher (Luke is a 99). Brandon Boykin is my starting corner, then a bunch of guys I've drafted are behind him. Hit gold on a SS who came in at an 82 overall who is now a 95 overall in his 3rd year. FS is pathetic. 78 overall starter.

So, basically, I'm too good right now. I'm thinking of letting some guys walk and just bringing in a bunch of new guys, just to see if that changes. Haven't messed with the sliders since going with that last set, because it offers enough of a challenge. No team is better than mine though. I'm not winning unrealistically. Not scoring more than 38 points unless I purposefully try to score more than that, and I'm still finding games that have me win like, 28-17. So, the realism isn't the problem. Being a good GM is. lol

On offense, I generally have a few plays in mind that I always start with. Either inside zone out of pro-I, 01 trap out of singleback normal, panther post out of the singleback, 4 receiver bunch (not the 3-man bunch to the side, the other, even split), or the lead read option out of this one package in the gun. After that, I let coverage and the defense tell me what I can do. I generally end up being very balanced in run-pass. About 25-30 runs, 20-25 passes in most games.

Defense, I keep it basic. 2 receivers or less, one of the 4-3 packages. 3 receivers without a TE threat, nickle. With a TE threat, dime. no running back, quarter cover 3. I seldom run cover 2 unless it's a zone blitz or man under. Cover 3 and cover 6 are more go-to coverages. Man blitz gets peppered in. Works like a charm for me.

I'm in the 2016 season right now and Russell Wilson left the Seahawks and signed with the Bucs loll. I also decided to draft a backup QB in the 4th or 5th round and struck gold with a QB with similar traits to Cam and is an 82 right out of the gate. So I have a nice QB grooming behind Cam until he decides to retire which should be around 7 or 8 more years. The QB I drafted is really young like 21 so it's not really a problem.

Picked this up and have been really disappointed. The graphical improvement is marginal, the presentation is still years behind other sports games, and it's still the same broken mess it is year after year.

Twice in the past two days have i been screwed out of a game on some awful call. Today I went for it on 4th and 1, CLEARLY got it, and was told I fell short and the ball was given to the other team. This isn't just conjecture, I checked the replay and was about a good yard or so past the marker. Unreal that they still have these issues. The best part was, that when I attempted to challenge the call p, the option was locked because "There is nothing to challenge."

Lol. Yeah. Right. I'll stick with whatever 2k puts out. Gave the game a shot after some considerable time away and now I see why I've generally steered clear the past 6 years or so.

I can't wait until the day we can get a real football game.
