The biggest concern with Ron that surprisingly no one ever talks about.

I'm suprised that it never gets talked about among both fans and the media and that is Ron's complete abandonment of going for it on 4th down. First and foremost, this isn't a bash Ron, fire Ron thread. I am actually very optimistic going forward. With that being said, it is truely mind boggling why any HC would do a complete 180 from something that has worked incredibly well and completely abandon it. Some might even argue that Ron's willingness to start going for it on 4th down completely turned around our season last year.

I don't remember the exact number but I know we had a very high success rate on 4th down, hell we where even so good at it that a local car dealership in NC made a commercial with Ron and him dressed up as the "riverboat gambler" and the entire premise of the commercial was based on Riverboat Ron.

None of our beat writers ever questioned him on why he stopped going for it, no one in the media ever talked about it and even fans don't talk about it. So what is the reason he would do a complete 180? Is it because he knew his job was on the line and after his extension he got comfortable? Is it because Cam being hurt Ron didn't feel as comfortable going for it on 4th down? For the life of me, it's such a huge mystery and I just want answers.

i don't care about that as much as i care about his lack of ability to assess talent in players and coaches and his truly astounding amateur aptitude for clock management four years into his tenure as a head coach.

That clock management is akin to waiting for the girlfriend get ready for a formal event.

How many times were we in 4th and short and behind in score at the time, that we didn't go for it. I can think of several times we did go for it including once again Seattle. I just don't know how many times we didn't. That would go a long way to determine whether the OP has a legitimate concern or is whining and complaining without reason.

I'm suggesting Ron hire a pencil necked dweeb to sit in the booth and tell him when and when not to call time outs and probabilities of 4th down play selections.

I'd be too drunk gameday to handle doing probabilities but at my drunkest I could advise him on how to use timeouts
