Voth breaks down the 2015 salary cap

I think you need to cut DeCoud and Harper.....bring in a vet presense to the secondary that can actually play. Harper is just to big of a liability and will only be getting worse each season.

Cutting Harper only saves us $600k and he was actually a fairly consistent, steadying force during the last quarter of the year. I would like to upgrade the position, but keep Harper around for depth and experience. The season after next is when cutting Harper makes sense ($3.8m in savings).

Harper sticks on the roster this next year. The savings would be equal to or less than finding a replacement.

Hopefully he will only be a role player and not pressed into full time starter duties though.

I know people think that because Gettleman cut Smitty, that anyone is vulnerable.

While technically I'm sure that is more or less true, comparing a Thomas Davis to a Steve Smith is just irresponsible. Something will get done with Davis' contract to retain him, I'm almost certain of that.

Comes down to liability factor more than savings.

3 names jump out at me, aside from DLo, who might not be in the GOAT uniforms in NFL history next year...

Tolbert, DeCoud, Cotchery.

Cotch doesn't really save us any money, plus he was decent... but speed was the name of the game in the pressers.

Tolbert and DeCoud might be goners though. DeCoud is a no brainer, but Tolbert is a fan favorite.

Granted, 89 was the all-time fan favorite.

Also, I have no idea what I'm talking about contract-wise so I'll let the resident Huddle Cap Experts weigh in......

Those same GOAT uniforms that we never wear . Like ever

CJ, Kalil, and TD all stick out to me.

All three are loved by the fan base, all three make too much money, but all three are top end players at their position.

Hate to lose any one of them, but's it's not out of the realm of possibility.

I'll be hurt if CJ leaves, but damn. If hardy is found not guilty, sign him and cut CJ?

Yeah no idea.

Teams that wore black jerseys were penalized more, significantly more, than teams wearing other colored jerseys," said researcher Gregory Webster of the University of Florida, Gainesville.

Agreed on this 100 percent.  Also, what do you think about RT?  Do we need to bring someone in?  Or will Reemers suffice enough for a whole season?

I think Davis finishes out his career as a Panther and possibly gets a statue. The Panthers stuck with him when a lot of teams would have never given him a chance to comeback. I can't see TD playing for anyone else. I remember when many huddlers were upset with the pick because we didn't want to convert a safety. Then.....we kept moving TD between safety and LB due to injuries and Davis struggled with the transition. TD turned out to be a lot more than a spy for Michael Vick.....The guy is a straight up baller and doesn't get near the accolades he deserves.
