To be a Bears fan right now...

Two articles from Bears beat Writer Brad Biggs...

John Fox the right man for Bears' rebuilding job

First class all the way: John Fox hits ground running upon arrival

The first article includes quotes from Muhsin Muhammad and Mike Rucker.  Muhammad is a pretty good source in this case since he played for both John Fox and the Chicago Bears.

Biggs points out that Fox is the first 'retread' coach the Bears have ever hired.

I have a very vivid memories of Foxy while he was in Carolina and I would not want to see him return. I'd take Rivera over Fox any day even if that means I never see another QB pooch punt or halfback draw on 3rd and 7....over and over and over and over and over again.

LOL One of John Fox's earlier quotes "A punt is not always a bad play" always sticks in my mind, when i think of him. It sort of told one of his ultra conservative mindset, right off .:)

Anybody who would take Cutler over Delhomme is nuts. It's unfortunate that's he's remembered for that Arizona game, but that was post tommy john surgery which no NFL QB has really come back from.

Delhomme in his prime was like Eli or Falco. An above average QB who went on hot streaks.

Yes,Jake Delhomme was an above average QB that over acheived somewhat but i don't think I would put him in the same class as Ravens QB Joe Flacco.

I was born into Bear fandom and I couldn't be happier. The Bears play defense, that's who they are. The Bears are in the right hands. When Fox can shop for his own players he puts together a good roster. The FO here f'd him up a lot. Let us not forget.

He's gonna turn this around fast. I'm proud of what Foxy has become. JR has to be kinda proud too. Good luck John Fox! Go Panthers!

It is what it is

I always kinda wondered how well an offensive guy like Elway and a defensive guy like Fox would mesh.

The answer, apparently, is not all that well

Pace has committed to go back to the old school Bears way of thinking, so I'm guessing he and Fox should get along much better.

Nope. They will need another back. Could see them taking a flier on gurley if he is around in the second when they pick.

Is BeastMode a free agent? If so, he'd do wonders for Matt Forte's longevity and what Fox wants to do on offense. That offense goes from being a joke to being respectable. If Jay Culter can figure out that you need the ball to score points, they could be dangerous.

Then Fox can go to work on the defense.

No, he's under contract next year for 8.5 million.
