To be a Bears fan right now...

I don't know if Matt Forte is the type of "pound-it" back that Fox wants in his backfield. I'm also not sold that they have the OL to do what he wants to do. Based on what I see in CHI and know about Fox, he's got a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball. Doesn't seem that they hired a coach to take advantage of what was already there.

If Forte is healthy he is a perfect fit.

If you guys say so, I'll believe you. Just knowing how Fox punishes his RBs doesn't make me see it.

In Fox's SB year here, Stephen Davis rushed 318 times in 14 games. Forte has only had close to that many carries once (316 in 2008 - his rookie year). So with 2 less games, Stephen Davis was used more than Forte ever has with 16 games and he's 29.

Just my opinion.

He also drafted Deangelo Williams. Fox isn't locked in to a certain kind of RB, he just likes running the ball. Plus they can also draft or sign an RB to back up Forte.

A Forte/CJ Spiller combo would be a Foxball dream.

They won't make a run with Fox.  He's going to stabilize and make them respectable but he'll be outcoached against the top half of the league week in and week out.  That's just who he is.  I really think if he didn't get lucky and fall in with Peyton he'd be strictly a DC by now.

Anybody who would take Cutler over Delhomme is nuts. It's unfortunate that's he's remembered for that Arizona game, but that was post tommy john surgery which no NFL QB has really come back from.

Delhomme in his prime was like Eli or Falco. An above average QB who went on hot streaks.

Nope. They will need another back. Could see them taking a flier on gurley if he is around in the second when they pick.

Bruce Arians just finished a second season where loads of people called his performance 'coach of the year' worthy.

Why is that relevant in Chicago?

Well...

Why the Bears passed on Bruce Arians

Since that article was written, both Marc Trestman and the GM who hired him have been handed their pink slips.

Now they have a new GM, and he's going to get them John Fox.

There was also some talk of Arians not liking the team wanting him to do a mock press conference.

Saw a good take on fox fixing Ds, panthets 1-15 31st D with fox in two years 2nd rated D. Same for broncos they where dead last, fox fixed that in one year. This year the broncos had the best rush defense by far, fox is tasked with fixing another broken D.

I have a very vivid memories of Foxy while he was in Carolina and I would not want to see him return. I'd take Rivera over Fox any day even if that means I never see another QB pooch punt or halfback draw on 3rd and 7....over and over and over and over and over again.
