Kubiak to interview with Broncos

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

Being reported by 'multiple sources' per PFT.

Not that long after the Ravens playoff loss, Kubuak had said he wasn't interested in any head coaching jobs (three teams had reportedly inquired) even though he wasn't actually under contract in Baltimore.

Then the Broncos job came open, and as of yesterday Kubiak and John Harbaugh reportedly had a meeting.

Now Kubiak's talking to Denver.

Wow

So the OC that pumped life back into the Ravens offense might not be sticking around.

I must live under a rock because for some reason I thought the Broncos already hired him. He is just now interviewing?

Don't see how he doesn't get the job, but who knows.

It does sound like an ideal fit.

With Kubiak on board and Manning returning, they'd have a superstar quarterback, a quarterback guru coaching him, and a former star quarterback making the roster.

Quite the setup...

Only problem is they are in win now mode, they having an aging qb, a ton of talent on the offense side that has their rookie deals ending, they will need to win now or start to retool within the next year or two

Valid. Elway's been a decent roster builder though.

Big loss for the Ravens, and would be a big gain for the Broncos. Hiring him and having Manning come back is necessary for them to not be fuged for the next half decade. They'll be in cap hell very shortly. They'd need to win it all with Manning in the next two years, or hope some other future star QB falls into their lap.

    • I get what you're saying, and to a large extent I agree, but I'm not sure what our #1 overall pick is supposed to do when good/great throws are hitting WRs/TEs in the hands and they're dropping them. That's been the state of things these last 3-4 weeks. I'm not sure why you're on this crusade to defend every player on this team not named Bryce Young from criticism as if Bryce is the one and only problem on this team.
    • Someone, something, somewhere helped him to get his head right. A knowledge deficit would not have been overcome to this level this quickly. Likewise for physical. His give a damn was shattered. I’m sure Andy has played a large roll, but it’s more than just that. It’s hard to ask for a better mentor. Maybe he’ll open up at some point.
    • "Bryce hater" here and I could be wrong, but his football journey involved him being one of the best players wherever he went, and surrounded by all the best players. I don't know if it's entitlement or overconfidence, but that mindset didn't translate to the NFL. Maybe he put a lot of pressure on himself being the #1 overall pick, but his demeanor his first 18 games of his NFL career exhibited someone who didn't care. Maybe after his benching it gave him some much needed maturity and perspective.  He's definitely a different player on the field now and I hope he continues to grow. I went from team Stroud, to cautiously optimistic Bryce supporter, to cut and trading that fool, to now a Bryce defender. The guy has earned my support by the way he has handled the benching and actually growing from the experience.
