Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is the favorite to land the Atlanta Falcons'head-coaching job, according to league sources, now that former Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles has landed in New York as the Jets' coach.

Yup.  That's what has made the Seahawks loss easier.  There's no way we aren't the favorites to win the division again next year, right?

Saints will get all the offseason hype again.                   They always seem to be the favorites to win the division,  every year.

was on the falcons board earlier today reading about the possibility of quinn.  they didn't seem particularly excited about him.  one of the gripes was that he was in and out of college and the pros for a few years and was just reaping the rewards of stepping in to an ideal situation.  as we all know atlanta is far from that defensively and some fans seemed put off by how unproven he is with sparse talent.

IF Tampa finds a QB, they'll be decent. Have talent, Evans is a problem, and the defensive talent is there. Saints, yeah they're getting blown up. 22 million over the cap for next year already if I'm not mistaken.

As for Atlanta, they're just honestly a mess IMO. I'm no expert on their depth chart, but outside of Ryan, Julio, Trufant, and maybe Jake Matthews, what do they have? Guys like Roddy and SJax are on their way out. Freeman was nothing this year. Their "big" FA signings last year sucked, they've proven to draft spotty at best, and the Julio trade screwed their team of potential depth. They can hire the best defensive coach they want, but I doubt he can turn chicken poo into chicken salad until they load up on talent over the next couple of years.

So, Gus Bradley builds a great defense with Pete Carroll (a former DC) and leaves for Jacksonville.  This Quinn guy takes over, gets his Super Bowl ring, and then the defense regresses a little before it gets hot at the end of this year.  He's probably going to get another ring this year, and then he gets to go to Atlanta and we will all find out if he can actually build something, or if he's just another guy who took advantage of someone else's foundation work.

I don't think I would be excited if I was an Atlanta fan right now.  But then, I would have to cheer for Melty Ice, so that whole excitement thing wasn't gonna happen anyway.
