Steak/Cellini

  • Bowles/Bowles agent called Falcons - we are getting an offer from Jets - do you want to make us an offer?  Falcons response:  NO, we are sticking with "the process"
  • Bowles felt there was much more pressure in Flowery Branch/Falcons than the other places he interviewed.
  • It does not feel like Arthur Blank's presence is helping the Falcons right now
  • Rich McKay is leading the interviews and is conceding that the personnel is awful  (lol, while Dimitroff is sitting in the room)
  • waaaaay too many people in these interviews.

Steak interviewing LaConfora:

  • 1st interview w/ Teryl Austin - Pioli challenges Austin on his selections for OC/DC which are 1st time coordinators - Pioli,  you are a 1st time head coach and you want to bring in 1st time coordinators?   Austin response:   well I'm a first time coordinator, too - <burn>
  • Some feedback from coaching candidates - rather overwhelming and confusing with Blank, McKay, Pioli and Dimitroff - lots of cooks in the kitchen

LOL

it gives me great pleasure to watch Atlanta Falcons flail around like this. they'll suck for at least 3 more years. at least. Saints might win 9 games next year but all the haters are ignoring the business end of things and core talents of the NFC South teams. i cant even rank the NFC South teams with respect to potential for success over the next 5 years. The Panthers are set up the best. the Falcons have officially sank into the pit. Saints are on their way down, but could still make some hay next year. Bucs are the wildcard of the equation. 50/50 chance they get their act together.

this was impressive of Quinn:

"Against Houston last season, Quinn’s film study led him to note that in a specific situation, Texans quarterback Matt Schaub always dumped the ball to a certain receiver when he was blitzed from his right side.

At a crucial point in a tight game, Quinn called for Chancellor to blitz off the edge. Knowing where Schaub was going to bail with the ball, Sherman jumped the route, picked off the pass and returned it 58 yards for a touchdown. Afterward, an impressed Sherman said it was as if Quinn had specifically diagrammed the interception.

And after the recent win at Arizona, (Earl) Thomas said that every play the Cardinals ran, the Hawks had the right key for the play. It was as if they heard the plays being sent in from the sideline."
