After the way he talked about the Panthers and his attitude toward them recently,he may not be welcomed bac here with open arms. Just saying.

Muhammad was cut by the Panthers and while he was probably pretty upset he acted like a professional. He ended up back on the team. Smith should have displayed such professionalism.

Tired of hearing the smith wasn't a mentor bs, name one receiver that left Carolina and lit it up with another team while smith was here........I'll wait

I have never heard ONE Panthers WR past or present say that Steve Smith helped them develop or gave them advice. Please do some research and find ONE that has stated it,then apply that logic to him helping KB develop.

Smitty is the reason the Coaching staff couldn't develop Wide Receivers and DWill is the reason we couldn't run the ball until the line stabilized late in the season.

Remember you're on the huddle.

89 wasn't the reason we couldn't develop WR.....he did little to help and also influenced who we could bring in.

And as far as 34....yes, having a 31 yr old average RB as our primary RB who can't handle contact was why our rush atrack suffered. When the ground game was rolling Stewart was still making great plays at, near and behind the line of scrimmage(what 34 can't)

We have heard a WR heavy draft class say he was busy and Jarrett was willing to help them

you didn't even answer the question, did you even read the post? i clealry said name a wr that left CAR while SMITH was still here and lit it up elsewhere ......lafell had a career year, but he had that with tom brady as a qb and on a team that passes more then us..........also with him being the main wr target. Lafell having a career year had far more to do with those factors then anything else.

 

so how about you just take a break posting until you actually know what your talking about.........

I think the read a lot of people (including Ravens fans) have come away with is pretty accurate.

 

First off, if you just wanted him to come back as is, he's already expressed that he wants to do that so no need to say anything at all.  Asking him to 'think about it' says you're not on board with that notion.  And Harbaugh's comments about him playing a 'different role' next year back that up.

 

They believe if he did come back, he could only be effective as a part time player, and his contracted salary is more than you want to pay a part time player.  Now rhey could ask him to take a pay cut, but he's expressed numerous times before that he's not up for that.  They could cut him, of course, but that's be messy.  If he retired though, less hubbub and more cap savings.

 

So yeah, I think they're hoping he'll choose to retire and save them both money and trouble.

 

Will be interesting to see what he does.

maybe because we only drafted like 3 or 5 in a decade while he was here, and they all flopped. lafell has been the best wr prospect we drafted since KB for the last decade in a half

Now that his "Heck yeah, I'm awesome" year is out of the way with the Ravens...  the Ravens get to experience the 89 that got booted from the Panthers.     The guy that gives up on plays,  the guy that starts to slow down and jog around the field when he feels frustrated.    The bully.  I expect him to lay into Flacco quite a bit next year.
