The Shula hate is overblown.

We promoted him to OC when no other team really wanted him as a QB coach and did so just for continuity.

Shula wasn't available, so you essentially crafted this "no one wanted him as a QB coach".  For what it's worth, he seemed to be a sought-after commodity in the times he was a free agent, including 2011 coming here.

If we fired Mike Shula right now I'm not honestly not sure he'd find a single offer doing anything at this level.

I respectfully disagree. He helped Newton turn into a pro style passer after he only had one year of starting in big time college football in a system that most experts said would not translate well to the pros.

Criticism about him as an OC has some validity, but the man is not the moron some people make him out to be

I too think that the Shula hate is overblown,

But I also think Shula isn't a good OC.

I think that our underwhelming WR corp hurts Shula's success as a play caller,

But I also think Shula's lack of play design creativity exasperates the problem.

I think our horrible Oline for most of the season handcuffed Shula b/c it hindered our run game which is the foundation of our offense,

But I also think Shula's read option calls in the wrong situations and the long developing pass plays made the offensive line look worse than it already was.

In other words I think Shula is average. If we have an elite defense to go along with his averageness, like last year and the end of this one, we can win. But if the defense slips at all, we're in trouble.

Your point was that as we got better players, our offense went from horrible to mediocre which is kind of a "no poo" sort of thing. Also that Shula shouldn't be blamed for not being able to coach around circumstances or injury, along with some nice blame-shifting to the QB. We promoted him to OC when no other team really wanted him as a QB coach and did so just for continuity. He's the Jeff Davidson situation all over again.

You still haven't answered my original question, though. If we were to release him, do you think any other organization would scoop up this bright, innovative talent to run their offense?

Straw men on straw men.

Also show me how a blame shifted to cam?

And no my point was we got better players our offense got better it is "despite poor situations and personnel the whole season we still managed to improve overall."

Try to keep up and use valid arguments

According to the Huddle:

Shula is "full retard"

Chud was "full retard"

Davidson was "full retard" and

Henning was "full retard".

That takes us back to I think 2002.

...according to the average Huddler, it's always the OC's fault.

They know because they play Madden...

This!! My whole point wasn't that Shula is a chip kelly or that we are lucky to have him cause if we fired him he would get scooped up by another team. Just that he isn't as horrible as people make him out to be. We were able to be middle of the pack despite our weak offensive talent.

Its not hate. He's simply not a good offensive coordinator at this level. He needs to improve or we find a better option. Wanting improvement is paramount to the development of this team and its dynamic qb.

Take off your cape.

Wanting improvement is a reasonable thing to want. Calling him the worst oc or terrible just simply isn't true. Wanting to fire him for improvement is ok. Wanting to fire him cause he's terrible is misinformed. He's average.

there does seem to be a trend there.

Chud was a lot more aggressive, but then you get that 10 yards rushing against Tampa type game because of it.
