Hardy's Heart is in Carolina

A recent ESPN article (link at the bottom) included some interesting comments from Josh Norman, who says he's spoken with Greg Hardy.

"His heart is in Carolina," Norman said. "I had a talk with him. He wants to be here. He don't want to go nowhere else. He wants to be in Carolina. He even told me he would play for free. That's what he told me verbatim out of his mouth."

We'll see how true that holds. But the prospect of getting one of the leagues top pass rushers on the cheap is very intriguing, whether he's found guilty or not.

watching JR cry, I assure you, Hardy will never play for carolina again

JR was crying because the NFL shield is in the middle of the BOA field and JR believes the league is much bigger and more important than anything....oops.... until he had to "punish" one of his players by paying him $13M to stay home.

Please... signing Greg Hardy to play in Charlotte next year would be:

1. a great football move for the defense

2. a tremendous act of redemption and good faith on both sides proving that second chances can be a good thing

3. necessary if they're seriously considering letting CJ go

I hear Zod and Voth both say there's no shot he's back and while I agree, it's hard to say without a doubt he's not back. Our staff, GM and owner are usually in lock-step in what they say publicly.  RR made a comment about Greg today that made me think.  He didn't dismiss a question about Greg like someone would if they were "over it".  He said something to the extent of: Obviously we'll let it play out in the courts.  You all know how I feel about him as a player.  If the directive has come from Jerry that Greg Hardy will never be a Panther again, why would Ron play that in such a coy manner? Or dismiss the question altogether?

Just my 2 cents. I don't believe he's back (or that we necessarily need him - with the trouble), but just something that caught me by surprise.

The decision about Greg Hardy is really about money.

The morality of the decision is a secondary issue.

If it saves dollars, it will make sense.

If he wants a lot of money, then they will make it about "moral distractions."

DG likes a good steal... and if this proves to be a situation where he can leverage on talent and save money... he'll be a Panther.

Hardy talked about a "hometown discount" way before any of this happened. I think it would be a mistake to ditch him just because of the pressures.

Greg Hardy coming back means we could focus draft picks and FA on other positions.

We are a better football team with him.

I was there at the Hive the night Jeff Taylor came back from suspension. The crowd actually welcomed him back. They just paid him 13million!!!!! He owes the team, his teammates and the city and he knows it! He's got enough money now it's about redemption

If he was sooooooooo gone he wouldn't have been back in the building. Here's to a nasty Dline next year! Cheers haters
