Seems the overwhelming majority agree that Shula would have to go.

So if we were to change OCs would you all be willing to see what Bell has?  While he wasnt that good he did seem to settle in some once there was some continuity on the line.  Our pass protection was very stout in the tail end of the season.  Giving Cam a clean pocket could go a long ways in reverting the David Carr syndrome he shows at times.

I was just simply trying to stir the pot a bit and get a legit discussion on the topic. Because it's very likely at least one is back next season.

If that irritates you why bother posting.

I really don't see how this could be a legit discussion, I mean why do you think we can only let one of them walk away, why can't we just cut Bell and fire Shula? Is there any legit reason leads to your such discussion?

Well, Jeremy posted in early December from what hes head from people inside the organization that a 4 game win streak to close out the season would likely save Rivera's job and prevent him from having to fire anyone.  That alone brings credence to at least one of them coming back.

Combine that with the fact that as of right now Foucalt is probably your starting LT and there isn't a huge surplus of talent at that position in the draft or FA without even taking into account the inflated market and our limited cap space I'd say there is actually a better chance that both return rather than both move on.

I'm trying to see how many people would legitimately be ok with Bell starting vs another OC.  Is it possible he was thrown into a scheme (seriously we run an AC offense with Cotchery, Avant and Benjamin for the first 12 weeks) with little to no chance of success because he's playing next to a hot garbage guard (Amini), and he simply wasn't that good himself to being with and there very likely wont be a better option we can afford?

Bell and Shula are the whipping boys of the huddle (and usually rightfully so) but the hate here often blinds a lot of people from ignoring the positives.

We saw in New Orleans what Shula's offense looks like when executed flawlessly.  41-10 aint bad.

(shoot back with a retort about NO's defense)

We saw what New Orleans did to us at home on Thursday night a little over a month earlier.  Running game was ineffective, Cam was harassed all night and we where whipped up and down the field by the saints D.

Difference in the OL?  Bell was out injured.

Trust me.  I've seen enough of Bell's matador routine leading to Cam getting mauled on 3rd and long to want him gone.  But why were we in 3rd and long?  Because we called a flea flicker to cotchery on 1st and sweep to Cotchery on 2nd?

I'd be much more willing to give Bell another season and be done with Shula then see  the same plays next year with another hopeless LT.
