Should we draft a Quarterback this Year ?

You realize Cam got injured 2 times this year and had a fairly major surgery to recover from to start off the season. He alos probably had more hits than any other starting qb.   Not all qb s bodies last for 10-12  years or more.  I would say at this rate there is a fair chance Cam may need to hang up the cleats in a few more years whether he wants to or not..

He got injured once. And he could've played as Rivera stated, but they made the choice to help him heal more and were confident DA could win the game, which he did. Cam is the least-injury-prone QB in the league.

Not necessarily. Arizona made the post season. I know we have Webb, but if a good QB prospect is sitting there, I see no problem possibly upgrading that position.

Arizona was a unique situation in that they were already pretty much in the playoffs when they had to go to their third string.  And their playoff run was one and done.

Only so many slots are available, and we depth in several areas, and good special teams players.  Webb is a luxury in that he can be the emergency qb, and he can play special teams, and I am ok if we keep it that.

That's why I said originally if our other areas of need were met, then I wouldn't have a problem with it. Does it seem likely that we'll take a late round flier on a QB, probably not.

No one knows how a potential Newton contract situation will work out.

Barring some exponential leap in Newton's play next season, I don't see Dave Gettleman offering up a huge guaranteed contract like Newton's camp seems determined to get.

Add in the injuries that seem to be piling up and a style of play that is probably unsustainable and there are real question marks.

Derek Anderson will be 32 years old next season and, while a fine back-up and probably a capable starter coupled with a great defense, there is no doubt he is not a guy you want to build around.

Joe Webb is great guy...but he is never going to be a good NFL QB.

Not only should the Panthers draft a QB, if the right project is available, they probably WILL draft a QB.

You are going to lose probably every game afterwards like arizona did. They had already clinched by then.

You only get 7 or so picks so why waste one on someone that will never see the field or if they do we will lose anyway?

And when we have like dozen other depth/starter needs?
