9ers staff is an odd one.

Some good names there, but no real leadership or charisma at all.    I do think it's interesting, after all that about keeping Tomsula for continuity, he didn't want anyone else, and then he hired from within for both coordinator spots, so clearly both were plan B.  You get some continuity, but not really (since Geep was a QBs coach on a team where the head coach was heavily involved on offense and the QB, Mangini was there but not even coaching D).

Geep I always liked, and he has OC experience, but nothing to write home about.  For a defensive minded head coach, it's odd.  Now, I'm not much on Sparano but that's a solid addition as a position coach (as is Tarver as LBs), but same problem with Mangini.  Maybe he'll be the leader there- Geep is unassuming but likeable, but that doesn't inspire, and Tomsula is a putzy lackey whose career inspirations were Harbaugh and Singletary, two of the nuttier goobers to take on a team.

In comparison, Elway's demand to relive the really old days, looks pretty sound.

Denver's coaching staff reminds me of the phrase "getting the band back together".

The hell?

Titans part ways with Lake Dawson

The departure of Dawson is something of a surprise. A former NFL wide receiver, Dawson had spent the last eight seasons with Tennessee. He interviewed for the Bears’ G.M. role in January and also talked with the Dolphins and Buccaneers about their G.M. positions last year.

He interviewed for our GM job too.

I wouldn't mind seeing him join us in some capacity,
