Cam's Most Important Offseason Yet

Let me just say, I think we need a new offensive coordinator and QBs coach. I don't think Shula and Dorsey are good enough.

But, I also don't think those things will happen.

How dare you. You've got a guy who has been fired from just about every coaching job he's had, and another guy who has never coached at any level before. What's not to like about the idea of these guys being responsible for the development of our franchise quarterback?

I'll look at the replay this afternoon to be sure.

But I remember thinking clearly that if Cam had of lead Tolbert with a soft lob it would have been a big gain.

Tolbert isn't a tight end. You aren't going to throw a soft lob to him in the middle of the field against Seattle.

Cam has zero confidence in any receiver to throw a soft lob for them.

He hit him square in the hands and led him perfectly. You can't throw a ball any better than that. If you don't trust him to make that catch you aren't going to lob the ball up for him to catch between two defenders closing in on him

Plus Tolbert was coming across the field not running up the seam

1. PFF rates Cam Newton as #31 of 32 starting QBs in accuracy in 2014. If you have 2 players on your roster with over 1000 receiving yards, how do you then resolve the issue above?

2. Red zone timing is horrible.

3. At times, Newton looks like his audibles are spot on, other times he doesn't bother to check out of an obvious situation.

Does anyone here actually know that Shula and Dorsey are not working with Cam on all these issues or are we just making assumptions because we want to put as little blame as possible on Cam for his weaknesses?

Cam Newton has been anointed as the franchise QB of this team, therefore he has no issues and Huddle posters are forbidden from placing any blame or call out any weaknesses on his part.

Cam Newton, in my opinion, is a ridiculous athlete with above average QB skills. His accuracy is atrocious (second worst in the league according to PFF), the Auburn read-option is holding him back, his mechanics and footwork are horrible. All of these issues can be coached up and the offensive identity of this team can also be coached up. Whatever happened to the good ol' I-formation like Seattle runs?
