Preseason predictions revisited

Post 'em if you got 'em. I chose PFT because at least one of their "experts" had the Saints/Falcons/Bucs making the playoffs, while none had us. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/09/03/pfts-2014-season-predictions/. This was WITH Hardy and WITHOUT the injuries to our franchise QB that I still wouldn't trade for anyone in the history of football.

For anyone that doubts this team as long as GMan is at the helm, how about instead subject yourself to a nice warm glass of shut the h*ll up.

I predicted a step back and felt growing pains due to our cap situation were ahead.  I had us going 7-9 and had the season going pretty close to the way it did, although I was a little more extreme on our bad start and strong finish.  I think I had us starting 1-7 before finishing 6-2.  Of course I did not foresee seven wins being enough for the playoffs.

I have been saying for a while now that '16 is the year we join the elite and anything that happened this year and next was gravy.  I think getting into the playoffs through all the adversity we experienced, getting over the hump of winning a game, and the experience going up against the best in their place will pay huge dividends when G-man's roster restoration is complete.  Many doubted him at times this year but I have been in his corner the whole time and remain entrenched there.  As Panther fans there have been a few times throughout our history where we could be excited, this is the first time where I was genuinely excited about our future.

I never make a serious prediction about this team anymore as they are so unpredictable. I was hoping for a winning season but expected what we got, minus the NFCS title of course. As much as I like and admire Ron I just can't shake this feeling that he's not the guy to take us to the promise land. I did not foresee the defenses struggles coming early in the season and I did not expect our QB to be somewhat regressing but given who his QB coach and our OC is that's developing him I should've saw this coming.

I guess deep down I knew that it was going to be a tough season as the Don foretold it would be so my expectations were tempered a bit. Overall I wanted to see improvement in all facets of the team. For the most part it's the same, if not worse in some areas. Many factors contributed to the demise of the season, some correctable and some we have to live with for a while due to the cap and stupid contracts. The Don has his work cut out for him that's for sure.
