What is it that makes people want to attack Peyton Manning so badly?

press coverage people are tired of hearing about him (though he is a a great QB and a nice guy) the media over-saturation much like with The Golden Calf of Bristol luck Brady or Johnny manziel has turned people outside his teams fan base against him really it's sad because I like him

So Luck is just good? Come on, guys. Admit it, Andrew Luck is a great QB on the verge of being elite. His team was about 19 or 20 on points given up a game, rushing yards the Colts were 22nd in the NFL and only scored 9 touchdowns on the ground. Of those 9, he scored 3. Without his running ability, the Colts wouldn't have gotten to 100 yards a game. If you can't average 100 yards a game, how can you call that offensive line beastly as I've seen posted in this thread?

Is there a lack of talent there? Sort of. Its neither as much or as little as posters here would have you believe. Fleener and Hilton are good, but would they be this good without Andrew Luck? The guy threw for 40 touchdown passes this year and he is just good?

Every time a guy went down in Indy or had to miss time, the offense didn't miss a beat.

The scary thing is 40 touchdowns and over 4000 yards and nobody believes this will be his best year.

Put him in a good division and see how he does. Those stats are easier to achieve when you play the Jags, Titans, and Texans twice a year.

He put up 16 Touchdowns in 6 games against his divisional foes.

2.66 TDs a game vs those Jags, Titans, and Texans.

2.4 against the rest of the league...

Now... If you take away his 16 TDs against those bad teams, that puts him at 24 against everyone else, which would be good enough for 14th in the NFL, ahead of guys like Stafford, Wilson, Kap, Cam and Dalton...

Broncos fired the wrong person for their post season failure..

who should they have fired then if not the head coach.  who's responsible for a ludicrously stacked roster with a first ballot hall of fame quarterback getting blown out of the stadium in one super bowl appearance and losing at home twice after a first round bye.

is the huddle john fox fanclub finally turning to the dark side and admitting that fox deserves minimal credit for denver's success?  i say that because it's inherently contradictory if fox deserves credit for their success but their failures aren't his fault.

Here's the worst Post Season choke artist of all time.

Money in the regular season, records, TD passes, blah, blah, blah. But put him in the Playoffs and it's most likely one and done.

9 times Manning has gone one and done in the Playoffs, his latest a defeat at home after a Bye against a team with a Sophomore QB and not much else.

Whether it's Mora, Dungy, Caldwell or Fox this guy is a coach killer.

No one has ever achieved less with more in the history of the NFL.

CYA Peyton, just retire.

No offense to Peyton, hes had a great run,..

But the dishes are done dude,.. retire.  You cant make over the top or deep out throws any more, Seattle exposed you and other teams have followed suit to the point that the Colts just made you look like and old Colt McCoy,... sorry.

With that,..

Peyton also took one of the largest if not THE largest contracts with an enormous 23 million a year or more CAP.

Once again, just like the Colts(especially after his Superbowl win over a team that couldnt score more than 17 a game), Denver had no cash to keep worthy free agents and core talent around.

Peyton, like other timing/finesse quarterbacks can get it done in the regular season.  Playoffs mean COLD and WINDY,.... timing and finesse get out of sync.

The physical teams take over and smash mouth the Superbowl.  Just a fact. Simple, sound, smash mouth football is how you win deep playoffs and Superbowls.

The finesse Broncos set all kinds of records and got SMASHED in the Superbowl by the smash mouth, sound football playing team,... and this time the Colts took on that identity.

HUGE quarterback contracts without regard to the salary cap handcuff a team and cannot have the core stay.  Hence,.. SUPERBOWL HANGOVER,...

Seattle had some,..but didnt deal with Russell after the Superbowl so were able to pull it together.  After his contract,.. well I hope they can draft another Chancellor and another Sherman and another Irvin, etc etc etc.

John Fox, Adam Gase and McCoy deserve a ton of credit for getting that team to where they were. Most fans just think it was Peyton running the offense the whole time....There's a reason that McCoy got a Job after being the OC there and the same will happen with Gase and that's because McCoy tailored the offense around Peyton and his strengths while bring in a ton of plays from the Indy offense.
