Yes and no. Injuries on the oline forced Remmers (not a rookie) and Norwell into roles, sure. But Cason, Decoud, Godfrey and Avant were released and White was benched making starting roles for Philly, Benwikere, Boston, Norman (not a rookie) and Jones ( not a rookie)

Yes, most of that is true.. Decoud got hurt and still is on team. He was active last night.  Boston came in only cause of that. Turner was not the starting RG to begin the season Velasco was and got hurt. Still Jeremy stated Norwell was a beast in TC and Turner was already out playing Velasco in TC, and Amini and Velasco started over them. Thing is the writing is on the wall for Rivera that he plays vets over rookies, keeps coaches way longer than he should (ST coach Rogers and Shula are prime examples) and we woulda been last in special teams in 2013 w/o Ginn.

I honestly don't think there is any question Rivera is a better coach.

I don't think you sad anything to differentiate Rivera from Fox. Ron runs the ball too. Ron trusts his defense when he shouldn't too. Ron kicks field goals for ties. Did Cason, Avant, Decoud, etc play hard for Ron? Or did the rookies looking for contracts play hard? Coach Fox never really had issues with effort, he was pretty good and salvaging an 8-8 season in December too.

Ron has been great about sucking until the absolute threshold for firing and then pulling a rabbit out of his hat against bad football teams.

The one thing I will say about Fox. You never saw him call timeouts to get the other teams kicker on the field. Or give up field goals when the opponent starts at the 1 yard line with a minute left. You never saw Coach Fox say "well i learned a lesson today". He just did things his way for better or worse.

Turner was not healthy to start the season. They didn't want to rush him in so he split time and looked bad. It started to click eventually.

Well you're right that decoud didn't get released but Turner was injured in preseason, and then re-aggravated the groin injury in the opener against the Bucs. He was the day one starter, not Velasco.

Capers ruined the Texans right out the gate. Fox actually won at his second job.

The goal should always be to get better. But Coach Fox enjoyed the best stretch as a Panthers Head Coach. He was a better gameday coach than Ron Rivera.

I'm not saying he was a great coach. Just the best we ever had and it bothers me when people act like he was the reason the team never put it together. Hurney was a big part of it too.

capers, fox and rivera are all of the same mold. at least rivera with go for it on a 4th down...fox and capers, no. probelm was capers and fox, you knew what plays where coming, before they happened.

jerry Jones keeps hiring the same type of coaches, aside from seifert (who tried to implement a SF system, we did not have the personnel for).

at least with rivera... he will let the offense open up, some...we could still do better
