The franchise has never been in better shape

This franchise spent the better part of a decade going 7-9, hoping to hit 9 wins and if it wasn't for a few lucky breaks in 2003 that season wouldn't be what it was. This franchise has made the playoffs two years in a row and I think we're at the very least the best team in the NFC South. A few key roster changes and we're right back here competing for an NFC Championship next year. All of the gloom and doomers obviously didn't sit through 2010. All of the Cam haters didn't watch the QB he replaced. 4 years ago this franchise was a laughing stock and now we're on the verge of something big. I don't like DG, but I have (blind) faith in him. I don't like Rivera but our guys play hard for him. We'll be back.

the future is very bright for the Panthers. everyone in the fanbase should be excited as of today. as always, there ought to be a 24-hour pity period where we all mourn the loss and the end of the season. but as of 8:15 this evening, every Panthers fan needs to look ahead to 2015 and feel excited about the direction of this franchise. i, for one, have already got a head start. im not waiting until 8:15.

keep pounding brethren, all the way to Week 1 of the 2015 season!

Yeah, we didn't go 7-9 we went 7-8-1.

It's great we made the playoffs but ultimately a lot of luck was involved. The team still has some cap problems and a serious talent problem at some positions (Byron Bell, Roman Harper, Brenton Bersin, Graham Gano).

There is a lot of work to be done. The Panthers have been bottom 10 or so in offense two years in a row with a #1 QB.

Well you better get comfortable with DG, because he's building and will continue to build a consistent winner! #KeepPounding

I believe Gano will bounce back next season, honestly speaking. TBH

Bell and Bersin have to go. Bell has no business starting in the NFL and Bersin is Armanti Edwards 2.0. If he was John Doe from USC he wouldn't have made the team. Harper would be a good depth player. We really need a speed WR to put opposite of KB with Philly in the slot. Get a legit returnman and we'll be fine.

I've already recovered for the loss. I accept that Cam will be Cam, and we have to roll with that. He's going to have ups and downs. The good news is that our o-line has been giving him time, and the defense lethal. We can continue to build and even better team around our current core.

There are a few players who I never want to see again. Cotchery and Chandler. Two of the worst players in the NFL. So long. No I want Chandler as a cheap backup. Find a new cheap backup.

Strangely, a lot of people have been asking me how I felt since the Panthers lost last night. I feel the same way as the OP. I can't think of another time when I felt so confident losing the final game of a season and moving to the next.

This is the best position Gettleman has been in to provide the team with extended talent while having a solid base to build from.
