What does Gettleman do about Cam

And we are a winning team without Cam? Lol

So you are saying that there are absolutely NO other options?.  You have to put this in perspective--Gettlemen is not going to give an inconsistent, inaccurate, mechanically-unsound QB the keys to the kingdom.

Yesterday at the presser, did he say, "in this business, you make mistakes when you allow emotions to get involved" or something close?  Did he mention Cam's inconsistent play and mechanical issues?  YES.  Who else did he call "inconsistent?"  (A: Byron Bell).  So forget what you think is going to happen or how many games you think he won, when they put the numbers on the table, that is what Gettlemen is going by.  What does he actually have at QB?  If Cam wants to be one of the top 3 QBs in the league, then expect a very incentive-laden offer.  If Cam (as rumored to have said after the Kaepernick deal) does not want a deal like that, then he gets paid in the category of the QBs in the middle third of the NFL in terms of guaranteed money.  So, you can put your foam finger and your face paint away--this is the off-season.  Gettlemen did not dig us out of one hole to risk putting us in another.  If you think that, you have not been paying attention. lol.

Cam is being studied by a very smart football mind.  Regardless of what you think, that is what is happening.

3 of the 4 QBs in the playoffs have rings.  I think Luck will have one at some point in his career if he stays healthy.

DG needs to give Cam a season with a solid OL and one more Tiffany WR.  If we're sitting home next year in Jan or Feb...then just be honest about what Cam's contract will be worth.

Next time say what you really think, racist.

There is nothing some of you'd like more than to see Cam get CRIPPLED next season and all of these "contract" questions go away completely.

Judge Cam based on total yards (passing + running) and total TDs (passing + running), and he's more than earned a long-term contract. He's done as much at this stage of his career as Peyton Manning did.

Of course you can't see that, or the fact that Luck throws just as many interceptions as Cam does, you racist.

Like most racists, Cam will never be able to prove himself. Luck can make the same mistakes Cam does, who cares? We have to be patient and let Luck learn. Cam's supposed to be perfect from day one. The standards are different. The definition of racism.

Cam doesn't have the best Oline in the world and he doesn't have one WR that can make anything happen. Smitty was a midget. He doesn't count as a Julio Jones kind of receiver. Cam's done what he's done with less than most QBs have. As soon as Gettleman tells him he has one more year to "prove himself," he should tell him not to worry about it, he'll be signing elsewhere, and when Gettleman tries to franchise him, he should hold out until he's allowed to leave. If I was Cam you wouldn't be sending me out there forcing me to run the ball to make life easier for your OC, Oline and RBs, when you're just increasing my chances of injury and a lower payday when I finally get one.

Pay that man right now and the pressure shifts to Gettleman to protect that investment and give it some playmakers to help it flourish. No more excuses, Dave.

Racist? Wow.  I was explaining how Gettlemen (or any smart GM) is going to approach Cam's situation.

Not my views on Cam at all.

As requested, Here is what I really think:  Reading Comprehension is not your strong suit.  I also think the person who screams "racist" every time they don't get their way is probably an idiot who needs an edge to get by in this world.   I also find it rather ironic that the word "Think" is in your username, unless it is only to serve as a reminder.

Anyone who thinks that Cam hasn't "earned" a long-term deal already is either unintelligent or racist. And keep holding out hope that he'll never get one, as I'm sure many of you will.

Prediction: If Cam doesn't get a deal in Carolina before Wilson in Seattle, Luck in Indianapolis, and maybe even Kuechly in Carolina, Cam's days in Carolina will be over soon after. Again, I'm sure that makes some of you smile.

You could not have missed the point any more than you did.

I am not responding to these points because they are stupid.  You are attacking points that were never made.  I can't begin to explain it to you because you are basking in ignorant subjectivity and are too far in to admit it.

I read your writing.  You have multiple grammatical errors etc. Your argument lacks cohesion and logic.  I sense that you are in no way qualified to question anyone's intelligence.  Learn the mother tongue and life will be less frustrating for you.  Then maybe you can become involved in discourse that ends in rational thought and understanding instead of childish name calling.

Dude on first page said it right.

Cam is gonna get paid big bucks in a cap friendly deal, with the big bucks in the last couple of years of which will be restructured.

I believe the FO is smart enough to know Cam is in another class above Dalton and Kaepernick.

Gettleman knows this. He saw the offensive line the first 10 games this season. He saw the WRs on the team. He is keenly aware of the situation and I trust he will make the right play for the franchise.

newton doesn't have the leverage people think he has.

he is just as much a liability to the offense as he is an asset.

That's bull. If what you said were true, Cam would have a 1:1 ratio in touchdowns to interceptions. And even his worst year which was last year, he didn't have that.

What many here fail to appreciate is Gettleman is building a team not a player.

Based on Cam's performance to date he can expect to be wealthy beyond that of any other player to ever wear a Panthers uniform.

However, those expecting an NFL record breaking contract must not have heard, Marty is no longer our GM.

The way Gettleman is building this team the quality and depth of our roster should be better than it ever has been within two years time.

At that point, this team may not require anything more than a competent "game manager" at the QB position.

Does that mean Gettleman will move on from Cam? No.

What it does mean though is Gettleman's negotiating position may be much stronger than many Cam Fans realize.

Pretty much.

Anyone thinking Newton is in a position to walk into Gettleman's office and demand a blank check is fooling themselves.
