So what does Gettleman do with Cam?

If JR gives Bojangles $60 million and says "Give this to Cam in an endorsement deal" it is perfectly legal and a sly way to circumvent the cap.

Look, sometimes creativity work. Hell, Carolina was founded upon creativity. The Panthers were the first team to introduce PSLs. This is another avenue that can be explored.

Jesus dude. UA only gave Cam around 1 million a year. If Bojangles were to pay 60 million, it WOULD get out and the the Panthers are fuged. You don't circumvent the cap in the NFL, the penalties are into the millions and can include league forced voided contracts and losing draft picks.

Besides, you've been beating this dead horse you created all night. It's beyond retarded. Go to bed.

There is no rule that says it can't happen and it is certainly more legal than paying him under the table.

Another option is Cam could start a charity and the Panthers could donate into it and he could take money from there, but while not illegal that would be frowned upon if it ever leaked out.

Anything you do to try and circumvent the cap is illegal. Everything you have posted is trying to circumvent the cap.

Not true, at all. Restructured contracts and post-June 1st cuts are both circumventing the cap. If there's nothing in the CBA restricting it, it's allowed.

Both are allowed. Another option would be JR writing a check to Cecil just as a friend, and Cecil could give that money to Newton as a gift. But again, that would be frowned upon in the unlikely scenario that it got out.

Yeah...You have no clue what you're talking about.

This whole idea is just dumb.

Show me where my idea is against NFL rules.

It's against the rules, but even supposing that it's not an "officially written rule" it would matter little. The NFL Management Council Executive Committee can just make up rules as they see fit depending on the situation.

Here's an example from the 2010 lockout ( I know you were probably 10 then, so bear with me. )

The NFL is taking away millions of dollars of salary-cap space belonging to the Dallas Cowboys andWashington Redskins for front-loading contracts during the uncapped 2010 season, according to league sources.

[..]

"The Management Council Executive Committee determined that the contract practices of a small number of clubs during the 2010 league year created an unacceptable risk to future competitive balance, particularly in light of the relatively modest salary cap growth projected for the new agreement's early years," the league said in a statement Monday. "To remedy these effects and preserve competitive balance throughout the league, the parties to the CBA agreed to adjustments to team salary for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

"These agreed-upon adjustments were structured in a manner that will not affect the salary cap or player spending on a league-wide basis."

During the pre-lockout 2010 season, the collective bargaining agreement expired and the league operated without a salary cap.

According to sources, the Cowboys and Redskins took immediate cap hits during the 2010 season that normally would have been spread out over the length of the contracts, giving them an advantage that other NFL owners found unfair.

In September 2010, the Cowboys signed wide receiver Miles Austin to a six-year extension worth $54 million and paid him a $17 million base salary that season.

Also, as part of the original deal, Austin was to receive a base salary of $8.5 million in 2011, but Dallas created cap room before the season by lowering Austin's salary to $685,000 and turning $7.855 million into a signing bonus.

"The Dallas Cowboys were in compliance with all league salary cap rules during the uncapped year," the team said in a statement Monday night. "We look forward to the start of the free agency period where our commitment to improving our team remains unchanged."

The Redskins also denied any wrongdoing, with general manager Bruce Allen issuing a statement protesting the team's innocence.

"Every contract entered into by the club during the applicable periods complied with the 2010 and 2011 collective bargaining agreements and, in fact, were approved by the NFL commissioner's office," the statement said.

You do what you're talking about at the ramifications would be MUCH MUCH worse than this.

You actually think you know how to get around a salary cap system that was set up by the NFL's lawyers when you're making arguments that sound like you flunked high school economics?

My word, the offseason sucks :(
