There's more to it than just super bowls. If Cam is good enough to get us to the playoffs routinely and give us a chance, that's good enough for me. We should remember what this Franchise has resembled in the past... We've already taken a step up. We were obviously not good enough to win the super bowl this year.. I enjoyed the last 6 weeks about as much as i have enjoyed any as a panthers fan, save the super bowl run.

excellent thread and pretty much sums up the sentiment that SHOULD be floating around this board. we've got flaws to correct and a ways to go, but if some of you slobber-chinned knuckle-dragging screaming banshees around here had it your way peyton manning would've been "not the answer" because reasons and cut in 2002.

This fanbase wants to become the Browns so bad. They don't deserve Cam Newton. A part of me hopes Cam goes to Atlanta and kills us twice a year. This fanbase deserves Ryan Lindley as their QB. They can loss games 19-13 and have the occasional 9-7 season, just like the previous 10 years before Cam got here

I think the reason people put this pressure on Cam is bc we are obsessed with comparing him to other QBs, much like the OP has done. And while that is natural it leads people to think Cam is not where he should be.

He just needs to keep winning games and playing well. That's all that matters to most fans.

Remember, there was a growing group of people who thought Brady was done at the beginning of the year. Its not just our fan base, its all of them. Perspective.
