Cam Newton

Get a left tackle and a Jaelon Strong or sign Randle Cobb, draft or find a Kam Chancellor type of strong safety and then lets play that game again all with this experience.

Im saying it would be 42-17 Panthers. Cam would be the town hero elite. All the haters would quit the huddle and Skittles would file bankruptcy.

Of all the games to pick, people should not be coming out of the woodwork to criticize Cam Newton after this one.  He played the game the way it had to be played to beat Seattle.

You take what that D gives you.  you cannot have turnovers, and Bell saw to it that Seattle went up by 7.  I have not been on Shula's ass all year, but the play calling in the second half was terrible.

What I look for in a QB--sound mechanics.  Cam was better this game than in the past.  Good decisions--he changed plays (questionable) from a pass to a run on one occasion--running the ball is how you beat Seattle--Shula abandoned it.  You really do not want to challenge that defense on a short field (red zone). Theiir safeties do not worry about deep responsibilities and attack underneath routes.  You run, run, and run it straight at them.  If you get six, celebrate.  If not, kick a FG.

The Game is starting to slow down for Cam and Cam has the tools to be great.  I have been his biggest critic on here, not trashing him but simply stating that he has a ways to go before I would pay him elite QB money.  I still think that, but there is reason to gamble here.  I think he wants to be great and I think we need to finally give him the weapons and protection he needs.  Does that mean I blame all of his shortcomings on the OL and WR?  Helll no.  However, he is not going to be great unless we put great around him.  He is no Rodgers, Manning, or even Luck-QBs who can win with nearly anyone on offense.  I am pumped about next year.  Give Cam a reasonable deal and lets see where we can go with him.  Give him a LT, another stud WR, and keep the defense stellar.  We can win that way.

Everyone likes to be right. Theyd almost rather lose and be right than win and be wrong.

Thats why they get blinded, use the wrong numbers to support their bias or even throw fingers and no support when there is none.

That probably makes too much sense and wont change a damn thing.

In a moment there will be a Cam sucks comment because we lost, but KB haters will disappear with bags on their heads lurking for the next time he drops a pass.

Sorry, that will be next September. There will be a new class of rookies to love and hate on.

It's sad, but there is certainly some truth in this.

We have "fans" here who rarely post when we are winning, but show up in droves ready to say "I told you so" about Newton if we lose.

Lol did you watch the game? Compare our coverage against Seattle Wrs/TEs compared to Seattles coverage against Carolinas Wrs/TEs its night and fuging day. Half the time Wilson was throwing to wide open targets all game. The other half were quick throws and his guys were able to get YAC something our team does not get. Cam had his fair share of mistakes but you really need to rewatch the game if you believe even 50% of that loss was his fault.

That snake guy could rewatch the game 100 times and still not understand it. I can say that about at least 75% of this message board.

I agree with everything you said except for the rodgers, manning and luck comparison considering that they have great receiving talents around them. Luck has nicks and ty hilton, rodgers has jordy nelso and another great receiver and manning has some great receiving threats and they all have really good coaches. Other than that you were spot on and very reasonable in your critique.

This is a truly silly statement.

Are you living on another planet? All of those guys have immense talent and coaching around them.

Yeah, Luck took a 2-14 team that was loaded with talent to 10 wins the following 3 years.  They carried him.

Peyton makes everyone around him better.  Last year, his OL was decimated with injuries-he lost his pro bowl LT, he had a third string C for the most part, and who were his RBs?  Decker was made by Manning, not the other way around.  They were lucky to make the playoffs before he got there, and suddenly they are in the Super Bowl.

Rodgers--put Nelson and Cobb on another team and see how good they really are.  But if you put Rogers on the Browns, for example, I imagine they would still be in the playoffs.  I imagine they would be favored to win the division.

You seem to require concrete and literal statements.  Most people get the meaning and move on.  You also enjoy attacking my posts.  You simply have to understand that everyone whose opinion is different from yours is not stupid.  The lack of ability to grasp that is.

I don't know what it is with you and Luck, but you are quite the fan apparently.

Indy is an organization who took a pretty damn different approach to their roster when they drafted Luck. I've been over this before with you, but you ran off and never bothered responding back. The Colts began building around Andrew from day one, especially in the draft.

You don't actually believe that bolded statement do you?

Honestly now is the time to see where Cam's cards lay.  Will he want the mega-bucks break the bank 'pay me!' type of deal?  Or will he take a step back, realize there is more to improve on in the team and take a deal that will not just make him one of the most wealthy men in America, but also help our team with the ability to spend money at other positions?

Yeah............not sure it inspires faith,  that he has been playing for peanuts the last four years,  compared to the #1 picks before him,   and the Panthers have yet to take any of that money they saved and really help him.
