Lack of talent around Cam is showing

The lack of talent excuse is a bit overplayed around here.  While I agree that we need to find some upgrades at certain positions, Cam and/or coaching staff need to share some of the blame.

I think we all agree our offense has issues.  Its some combination of Cam, coaching, or the supporting cast.  This off season will be interesting because we will get an idea of what DG thinks is the problem.

First thing you do is get rid of the stats/facts, because this is the Huddle and not many here pay attention to such things.

Second thing you do is stop saying anything negative about Cam Newton because this is the Huddle and if you refer to the sentence above, you'll understand.

Regardless of the stats and facts and every other measurable applied to the QB position, you must always remember that Cam Newton does no wrong, does not make mistakes and is the greatest QB to ever put on a Panther uniform. All of the blame is placed upon the talent, or lack thereof, around him. The first time you even remotely mention the fact that Cam Newton may be a tremendous athlete, his QB skills are above average, at best, you will be black-balled, considered blasphemous and burned at the stake.

I was experiencing a classic Delhomme affect...

How do you know you're an attention ***** posing as an everyday douchebag?

Answer: When you have to quote your own posts and comment on them because nobody else gave a f**k.

Congrats....pick up your Summer Eve on the way out.

Statistically speaking our offense wasn't much different last year.  In 2013 Cam had pro-bowl level players at LT, C, TE and WR  and two of the highest paid running backs in the league and our offense wasn't that great either.  This idea that the franchise hasn't spent resources on the offense is a myth.

When I first joined this board every other post seemed to be people complaining about Lafell.  "If we only had a quality #2" was a statement that I saw consistently.  Brady and the Pats have had a decent season with Lafell being their second most productive receiver.

Brady's top three receivers with Lafell on the team :  Gronkowski, Edelman, Lafell

Cam's top three receivers with Lafell on the team:  Olsen, Smith, Lafell.

Cam's top three receivers this year:  Olsen, KB, Cotchery

Is there really this huge divide in talent that some people want to believe or do we just get less out of our talent?

Master Chief, Cam is to blame every time he throws the ball. So I think he needs to shoulder much of the blame.

However, didn't he lead the league in big plays as a rookie. I can't imagine he simply forgot how to throw the deep ball. The difference has been a second pass catching threat at TE (Dickson is not good) in Shockey, Smitty,LaFell and Chud calling plays.

Thank god you were here to quote me... talk about self absorbed trolling losers.

It's great when people like you quote someone to say that that no one gives a poo- do understand how fugging funny that is?

Please quote this some more or maybe offer a real thought once in while...

Don Gettleman's only been here for 2 and he's gotten rid most of Hurney's contracts and found talent through the Draft, It's slowly dissipating. Also there aren't as many glaring needs as there were the previous seasons.

he created a glaring need and now it is hurting us.

You know it's showing when NFL writers see it.

5. Adding to our last point, this loss should not be an indictment of Newton's "clutch" ability. Yes, his final pick -- an awful, season-killing mistake that he should have anticipated -- was ill-advised. But he is piloting an offense with barely any skill position players and he was moving the ball well into the fourth quarter. Despite Carolina's absence of a quick-strike game, he was still firing deep balls down the seam to Greg Olsen and putting Carolina into scoring position down 14.

We need a new OC. We see scrubs from Seattle put in position to make plays while our key players (i.e. Tolbert) drop key conversions.

Not only OC but Special Teams as well. 2 Blocked punts in Minn. and then jumping the line 2 times in Superbowl.....Just a few of many this year, but back to back in 2 games is 2 much.
