Seahawks to make Russell Wilson highest-paid QB

thats not fair at all. SF defense matched Seattles defense in the NFC Championship game last year and Russell Wilson out played Kaepernick. Threw for over 200 yards completed over 60% of his passes, threw a TD, and did not throw a pick or fumble. I know it is the cool thing on this board to tear down Luck, RG3, Kapernick, and Wilson in honor of Cam, but that isn't right. I would take Cam over RG3, WIlson, and Kaepernick without thinking twice, but to be fair Wilson won a Super Bowl and will deserve every penny he gets.

If Andrew Luck goes on to be a top 5 QB of all time and never wins a Super Bowl does it justify paying him more than Wilson who did? The whole point is to win a Super Bowl. Look how many teams in the NFL either only won 1 Super Bowl or never won. It is the hardest championship to win. If your QB gets you win I believe it is completely fair to stay loyal to him. Like to answer another poster before, if Delhomme won that Super Bowl I would not have cared less how much they gave him. Look how much they gave him and he didn't win a Super Bowl. Would it really have made any difference?

Yeah you hit the nail on the head for Wilson. He played a clean game and didn't give the SF defense anything. But he didn't win them that Super Bowl. The defense won them the Super Bowl. Wilson has been along for the ride the entire time. He is literally in the best young QB position on the best team. But he did not win them the super bowl. That's a lie.

Well, this is where every team goes in the toilet afterwards. See,...Brees after huge contract,...See Baltimore,... See Green Bay,...Pittsburgh,..New England,...Colts under Peyton,...

See Tom Brady just take a HUGE paycut for this reason.

One guy cannot make 1/4th of the salary cap and still win Superbowls.

You just cant keep too many other of your corps players and replace people fast enough in the draft.

So Seattle will do this, and sure they will be in it a lot, but probably not be in another NFCCS or Superbowl after that contract is done.

Write it down and take a picture. Brady finally saw the light and took a huge paycut for that reason,..

His rookie deal allowed Seattle to fill out other positions with quality players. Paying him 100m plus will hurt their depth going forward.

This is as big a myth there as it is in Carolina. He'll be making $20-something per season, and with a little under $120M left to use each season, they'll have more than enough to "fill out the roster," with the cap increasing to around $140M.

Say what you want SF was smart with their team friendly contract with Kap.  That team is going to be built for a decade as long as Kap doesn't fug it up in spectacular fashion.

Sea will be in cap hell, don't care what anyone says about it.  Look at Brees/Cutler/etc.  No one has every won anything after a big deal, no one.

Kap is no where close to Wilson in terms of being a complete QB.

then what is your point, ovcourse a QB that is 1000 times better is gonna cost considerably more.

Lol, so still on his nuts I see. Sorry if you misunderstood me, I would never disrespect your lover Russell  "Can't stay in the pocket, one read only, scramble for a first down" Wilson. LMAO.  Game Manager for real.

Lol at you fools thinking Wilson is just a game manager. Dude makes crazy plays EVERY week, insanely smart, good accuracy, great feel in the pock, etc etc.

Carolinians should know first hand he is the real deal.

Also the beneficiary of an insanely well-built team.

He is a game manager, and a darn good one at that. I question whether or not he can succeed without said personnel around him, but no doubt he earned whatever contract they give him.
