Seahawks to make Russell Wilson highest-paid QB

Uh everybody watched the super bowl dude. Your team was up by 20 before Wilson even registered a td.

Obviously they were outmatched in the super bowl, but have you watched any game outside of that??? No way we win the NFC Championship without him, let alone get homefield to put ourselves in that postition

You give any QB consistantly the #1 D and a Lynch rush attack and they will win and look good

Yes, Wilson is good. That money means you have a QB that can do things that Wilson has never hinter he is capable of

I'm sorry, look at the Cardinals, they have better offensive weapons than the Seahawks and a good D, but they can't find a QB to save their life.

Also, Keep in mind that Russell Wilson is playing with 3 undrafted free agent WRs and two rookie WRs, he has zero offensive weapons minus Lynch, and we have one of the worst offensive lines in football. Yet he still makes it work.

Is he top 3 at his position?

Is he the best player on his own team?

If the answet is no to both, he should not be paid like he's the best. Expect Kaepernick type clauses.

What makes Seattle dangerous is the fact that Wilson makes the money he does now. They will be skimping on other areas with so much money spent on Wilson.

Welcome to the NFL as of 2015.  If you have a young QB that is very talented, they're going to get paid.

He'll be the highest paid QB until Cam Newton and Andrew Luck get their deals.  Then they will be the highest paid until the next extension is dished out.  Just how this system works.

We already locked up our defensive core, we will be fine.

I'm just saying, your team doesn't live and die by Russell Wilson. I don't just watch the panthers. He's a good fit for the team that's constructed around him. He's a smart player that doesn't make mistakes. Not every QB can be that guy. But he's not Aaron Rodgers. He's not Andrew Luck. I'm leaving Cam out of this because I'm bias.

people should expect dalton/kaepernick contracts for all the young quarterbacks from here on out.

Making a date with Cap hell

Actually they've done a phenomenal job planning for all of this.  Percy Harvin was likely gone at the end of the year even if he wasn't a total ass hat .. he just expedited that departure.  They have every key cog on defense locked up aside from Bobby Wagner (which will get done) .. and have the key cogs locked up on offense.

This is what happens when you draft exceptionally well and dig up gems in the mid rounds at a really low cost.  Obviously they will have to continue to do that to make this thing work.

Imagine Alex Smith behind this shitty offensive line... Do you think the Seahawks could be a successful team? The answer is no. We have a horrible offensive line and no weapons in the passing game.

Some teams pay WRs, because their team is built to air it out. Teams like the Seahawks aren't built that way, so we put our money elsewhere, it's a simple business decision.
