Official Panthers at Seahawks divisional playoff GameDay Thread...

NFL Spin Zone:

"Cam Newton and the Panthers have a chip on their shoulder, stemming from the “Nobody believes in us” factor and their below .500 record, and I like it!

I’m getting scared. Because Seattle had a week off and because the Panthers look good again ... Conventional wisdom says it’s the Seahawks at home; no way they lose this game. But conventional wisdom also had the Panthers sitting at home this postseason, if not losing to Arizona at the very least.

I’m calling the upset. The Panthers do enough to stop the Seahawks’ running game, forcing them to win through the air. That’s not their game plan, holding Seattle to less than three scores. ... Defending Super Bowl champions rarely prosper in the playoffs the following season. Look for an upset to roll through the Pacific Northwest this weekend. Carolina 17 – Seattle 14"

                           Boo - Yeah

And KB catches the winning touchdown  outstreched with Sherman draped all over him and  Wagner is running to try to defend underneath.....

And after KB completes the reception for a touchdown...the announcers say ....

"And the Lord said, you've got to rise up!"

RIP - Stuart Scott we will miss ya

The Oklahoman (largest newspaper in Oklahoma):

First, let's rank the quarterbacks left in the playoffs:

...

6. Tony Romo

7. Russell Wilson, Seattle: When Russell Wilson ranks next-to-last, you know you've got a heck of a list.

8. Cam Newton, Carolina: Not a bad player, just in severe company.

OK, now defenses. Let's rank the defenses remaining:

1. Seattle

2. Denver

3. Carolina

4. Baltimore: The Ravens are tough and battle-tested.

5. Indianapolis

6. New England: The Patriots are rock solid on D.

7. Green Bay: Not that great on defense.

8. Dallas: not good enough.

OK, so let's put the two together, quarterback and defense, and there is virtually no clear favorite to win Super Bowl 49.

Fantasy Sports Warehouse:

"Kuechly and Thomas Davis are one of the top linebacking tandems in the league much like the Chiefs with Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. As mentioned before the Chiefs were the last team to beat Seattle and having solid linebackers who can get from sideline to sideline are key to containing the Seahawks offense

...

I give the Panthers a legit shot to win this game and truly would not be surprised if they pulled it out. They’ve been playing well as he run game and defense continue to improve ... I think the Panthers defense is strong and won’t go down without a fight."

International Business Times (ranked by Alexa as the third-most visited site among business newspapers), sportswriter Anthony Riccobono:

"Cam Newton is the worst quarterback that’s still in the playoffs ... The Panthers only scored nine points in their home game with the Seahawks in Week 8, and they might not score much more in the rematch on the road."

"Carolina Panthers vs Seattle Seahawks -

The two hottest teams in the NFL. The defense will be the focus of this match up between the defending champions Seattle Seahawks against the Carolina Panthers ... This NFL playoff schedule between the Seahawks and the Panthers is all about which team will play the best defense."
