Official Panthers at Seahawks divisional playoff GameDay Thread...

Here's a good read on what SEA fans think of their own offense. Much, much, much less talented than ours:

Fan articles are good for laughs but little else. Should I post all the huddle articles about our offense and all the articles about Shula. How about our offensive line and Byron Bell.

Nah most everyone has decided that Wilson is better than Cam, lynch is better than Stewart and that their offensive line is equal to or better than ours. Keep, going though. This is entertaining while I wait for the game.

CBS Sports senior writer Pete Prisco:

"I think Seattle will pull this out to get to the title game. Like the last three between these teams, it won't be easy. ... This Carolina offense is much better now than the one that took the field in Week 8. ... The Carolina defense has really improved over the past month as well."

CBS Baltimore:

"Carolina @ Seattle : I think Seattle is going to win this game but i think its going to be a lot closer than the experts think. ATS PICK CAROLINA"

Look what you just posted. The line itself said that this writer thinks that it is going to be a lot closer than the experts think. That is exactly what I said. I told you that virtually all the experts and their associated articles, blogs , tweets etc are saying the same thing. Why keep fighting it? To prove it is going to be close? I already told you that I think the experts are wrong and if I had lots of money I would take the points and the under. But I wasn't talking about what I think or the guys who are hedging their bets by predicting a close one but that Seattle wins so in any case short of a Panthers win, they were right. I am talking about the folks who do this stuff for a living or have a stake in it. They have told us we didn't belong and that we were the worse playoff team in history. Now we are going to be beaten by a bunch.

I personally think our offense is going to be decent today and will score in spots. It is only whether they are touchdowns or field goals that will tell the tale. And whether special teams is a positive or negative factor. And for us turnovers against Seattle are always an issue.

So keep going but the articles will have no bearing on the score. Finding more articles won't make the score any closer or affect the outcome so you don't have to work so hard. Me I have to go out and fix the hot tub as part of my hunny do list. Have fun.

read it, it's good. It's not a fan article. I agree that most have Lynch as better than Stewart. But Stewart had more rushing yards over the last month of the regular season than anyone but the Cowboys’ DeMarco Murray and then added 123 yards against the Cardinals in the 27-16 playoff victory .

Joe Person @ josephperson 3d

Jonathan Stewart's 123 rushing yards the 2nd most in #Panthers

playoff history (DeShaun Foster 151 vs. NYG 1/8/06).

compare Stewart over the last month of the regular season to:

December

4 gms - 418 yds (4.0 ypc) - DeMarco Murray (Pro Bowl, 1stT All-

Pro)

4 gms - 401 yds (5.1 ypc) - Jonathan Stewart

4 gms - 369 yds (5.2 ypc) - Eddie Lacy

4 gms - 350 yds (5.1 ypc) - Marshawn Lynch (Pro Bowl, 2ndT All-

Pro)

4 gms - 345 yds (4.3 ypc) - Arian Foster (Pro Bowl)

4 gms - 315 yds (4.3 ypc) - Le'Veon Bell (Pro Bowl, 1stT All-Pro)

4 gms - 301 yds (4.2 ypc) - LeSean McCoy (Pro Bowl)

4 gms - 257 yds (4.6 ypc) - Justin Forsett, BAL

4 gms - 226 yds (5.1 ypc) - Jamaal Charles (Pro Bowl)

And I agree most have Wilson outperforming Cam, in fact a lot expect Cam to completely wilt under the pressure of playing in front of SEA's fans. But:

Russell Wilson during his 1st two games in SEA this season (GB and DEN): 4 TD, 1 INT, QB ratings of 110.9 and 99.9

Then in the 3rd home game in SEA, a loss to DAL, Wilson was completely awful. 47.6 QB rating, his worst this season. Six days later, Percy Harvin was traded and rumors swirled about a lockeroom rift between Wilson and his teammates

After that, Wilson hasn't been the same when playing in SEA. Wilson over his last 5 games in SEA: 2 TD, 4 INT with 1 rushing TD. QB ratings of 121.6, 68.0, 63.9, 53.7, and 50.0. Only had more than 31 rushing yards twice.

you can read more here while you wait for the game:

AOL.com:

"Looking for an old-fashioned and hard-nosed defensive battle? This is the game for you. These two teams met in Week 8, when the Seahawks squeaked out a 13-9 win over the Panthers in Charlotte. Coming off a defensive clinic in a 27-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals in the Wild Card round, the Panthers are rolling at the right time of the year. ... Along with having two of the best defenses in the league, both teams run the ball well behind their respective running backs (Jonathan Stewart of the Panthers and Marshawn Lynch of the Seahawks). Therefore, the battle for the line of scrimmage will, without question, be the game within the game.

The game should be decided between two of the most-exciting young quarterbacks in the NFL: Cam Newton of the Panthers and Russell Wilson of the Seahawks. The quarterback that is able to make big plays in the contest should come out with the victory. However, one important advantage Carolina holds over Seattle is that the Panthers are almost never penalized while Seattle led the league in penalties this season."

    • For the silly people that worship her it will be that.  The Coleman 'legend' thing, they did that with another fairly average player that was here and I sort of mocked or questioned the 'legend' status. Instantly caught crap for insulting someone's favorite Panther. So okay, Kurt Coleman is a Legend.
    • You allow him to compete--you all are talking as if I am proposing making him the starter. Give him a new coach, new weapons, good OL, etc. and see what happens. You are saying, "Well Damn.  It did not work for 3 guys..."  Right now, our C is injured, we lost our top 2 WRs.  Better question:  If you need a QB, Why would you not take a chance on bringing in a QB who was a former first rounder, a good arm, intelligence, mobility, youth, etc.  and see how he does out of NY--with a better OL, better running game, better receivers.  I am not saying give him a 10-year contract, I am saying give him a chance. You act like there is no improvement on offense here--it was a 2 year process, and next year is year 2.  To me, how can you sit there with Bryce and an opportunity to sign a veteran QB on the cheap comes available and you say--"Not us. We're good.  We are waiting for Patrick Mahommes."  Jone's problem is obviously mental--and he has little support.  Why is this so frigging hard to comprehend.  It is called "bottom fishing" and it is better than sitting in the boat.
    • I think we're going to fall from behind quite early and be forced to abandon the run game.  3 rushes -2 yards 1 catch -10 yards
